Whilst for those city explorers, the historic city of York is within driving distance.

Disappointed to find windows and skylights wide open on arrive meaning the lodge was very cold. The radiators in the bedrooms had been turned off at the valves compounding the issue. The kitchen laminate flooring is frankly a death trap, with boards freely sliding as they arent fixed, the main external door needs pushing/pulling firmly to engage the lock to turn, the patio doors are ill fitting and you can see daylight through the frame is several places. The main complaint here though was the cleanliness, the check in/out times have been changes to allow “deep cleaning”, frankly I saw no evidence of any pre-arrival cleaning. There were cobwebs in nearly every room, bed frames were thick with dust and clearly hadn’t been wiped in weeks. Sitting on the sofas we were both covered in dog hair presumably from previous visitors, all in all the cleanliness was far below anyones expectations.

Oak Lodge was comfortable clean & really well maintained. Had such a pleasant stay. Will be booking this lodge again.

We have had a lovely break in Oak Lodge, it was a brilliant size and so clean. The hot tub was lovely and it felt like a home from home.
