Enveloped by protected forests and looking out over the glistening sea, Cottage Nel Parco enjoys an enviable location close to walking trails, beaches and fantastic towns such as Cefalù. In addition to this location, the villa is exceptional; the home is filled with handmade furnishings and has been designed to be an eco-friendly retreat where guests can recharge and relax. 

Sleeping five guests in one double and one triple, en-suite bedrooms, this home is ideally set up to accommodate two couples travelling together or a family with two children. This rustic-style home is typically Sicilian from the outside, with stone walls, shuttered windows and barn-style doors. As you approach, you will notice this pretty building with its adjoining open-air outdoor summer kitchen, sitting in a lush garden filled with Mediterranean planting.

Indoors, there is a large living room, which the owner has carefully and lovingly decorated. The home has no plastic items. Instead, you will find beautiful handmade pieces of furniture, artwork and local textiles throughout the house, giving the cottage a cosy, welcoming feel. This comfortable room also has a Smart TV and a small kitchen. There are two bedrooms at Cottage Nel Parco; each has independent access to the garden, offering privacy. Both bedrooms have double-sized beds with colourful linens and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.

Though a small kitchen is inside, there is a vast, fully-equipped open-air outdoor summer kitchen just outside. The kitchen and dining space is covered and well-lit. This kitchen, plus the gas barbecue, is perfect for making the most of the fantastic climate and the panoramic views from the garden. The oasis-like garden also boasts a natural swimming pool and plenty of seating areas, including day beds and hammocks. 

You will not even have to leave the property to participate in a wealth of fun activities, as the concierge team can book many classes and experiences. There are natural art classes, outdoor movie nights and cookery classes with a 5-star executive chef on offer. You can even book pool parties, a private chef, boat trips and massages; with all these activities and such expansive gardens, you may always want to stay!

When you wish to explore more of Sicily, the closest village, Sant'Ambrogio, is just 2km away. This village has several cafes and restaurants where you can dine out and access beaches such as Nunziatina Beach. There are also lovely coastal walks that set off from the village. In addition to these local beaches, guests staying at Cottage Nel Parco can book on to a luxurious private beach club close to the home.

If you would like to visit a town with a broader range of restaurants, shops and attractions, Cefalù is just 6km away. If you want to head out and see more of Sicily and the surrounding islands, you can book a trip to the nearby Aeolian Islands. You will be collected by the coach, who will then drive you to Milazzo to board the boat for a full-day trip to the gorgeous islands. 

Cottage Nel Parco is an idyllic cottage which looks out over the sea and is nestled within the boundaries of a forest nature reserve where you can walk through the tree-shaded trails and take leisurely sea view picnics. The cottage is also perfectly placed for spending lazy days on the beach, whether you wish to book sun loungers at the private beach club nearby or would prefer to visit some of the finest beaches in Sicily, just a few km away near Cefalù.

The house is ideally placed for those who love to get out in nature as it is located within the Pine Ridge Forest Reserve of Parco Delle Madonie. From your doorstep, you can head out on circular routes through the mountain landscape or walk into the hills to visit the local herd of cows. Horse riding tours or bike hire are also available here. This setting is brilliant for those who prefer a holiday exploring the countryside and idyllic beaches of Northern Sicily to the hustle and bustle of some of the larger cities on the island. 

 As well as walking through the nature reserve, you can also easily visit a wide range of beaches. One of the closest beaches is Nunziatina Beach, which is a serene pebbled cove. Some of the best beaches on the island can also be found close by, including Kalura Beach and Spiaggia di Mazzaforno. Whichever beach you visit, you will be assured of a lovely day as the soft sandy beaches are great for sunbathing and swimming in the clear water. If you would like to spend the day at a unspoilt beach, why not take a boat trip to the fantastic Aeolian Islands, which lie off Sicily? 

Though the home has a nature reserve, you can find the closest amenities without traveling far. The closest village Sant'Ambrogio, is only 2km away and is set on the seafront. This is a wonderful place to visit for dinner, as you can dine at atmospheric seafood restaurants with sea views. 

When exploring a larger town, you can visit Cefalù, which is 6km away. Cefalù is one of Northern Sicily's most popular coastal towns, and it is easy to see why. With a bustling harbour lined with a fantastic array of restaurants and bars, plus a historical centre packed with amazing Arab-Norman buildings, Cefalù has something for everyone. While here, you should spend some time wandering around the ancient streets and taking in the sights such as the Saracen washhouse, a 13th-century palace and the impressive cathedral, the Duomo di Cefalù, built in the 12th century.

Another way to see the town is by boat; you can take a boat trip along the beautiful coastline and stop off to swim, snorkel and visit the enchanting caves.
