About this property

Sicily is a beautiful Italian island which has its own unique charm and character. Known for its idyllic beaches, fantastic ancient ruins and atmospheric towns, the east of the island is a delightful choice for a holiday!

If you are searching for the perfect place to stay with a group of family or friends, then you need look no further than Il Feudo. This spacious home can sleep up to 14 guests in comfort and boasts a landscaped garden of over 5000m2.

Il Feudo is a centuries-old villa which sits within a vast citrus grove. This traditional home is spread over three floors and has been fully renovated in a contemporary style. The original building and features have been restored and maintained, while a modern kitchen, bathrooms and décor have been added, making this a lovely place to stay.

Guests can gather together in the large living room which opens on to the garden and has a comfy L-shaped sofa to sit on. Next door there is a chic dining room where you can enjoy breakfast unless you prefer to dine outside. Meals and drinks can be prepared in the fully-fitted kitchen which has all of the appliances you could need as well as coffee machines for brewing your fresh morning coffee.

The villa can accommodate up to 14 guests across six elegant bedrooms. Four of these rooms can be found on the ground floor and all have en-suite bathrooms. Another en-suite double room is set on the second floor, while the first-floor master room boasts a king-sized canopy bed, a fireplace and an en-suite bathroom with a relaxing Turkish bath.

You are sure to wish to spend lots of time in the expansive landscaped garden which is filled with lawned spaces, flowers and towering trees. Outdoors there are numerous covered seating areas and dining tables so that you can start up the barbecue and come together for dinner al-fresco. If you fancy a refreshing dip then you can sink in to the huge salt water swimming pool or the plunge pool which has a hydromassage corner!

The home is ideally situated as you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the country location and yet everything you could need is just a short drive away. There are both sandy and pebbly beaches within 10km of the villa so you can spend lazy days basking in the gorgeous sunshine.

There are also plenty of villages and towns close by including Nunziata which is the closest village at a mere 3km away. Nunziata has a selection of shops and eateries and is really handy to have so close. There are many more restaurants, shops and attractions in the towns of Riposto and Giarre which are each under 9km away.

If you wish to explore one of Sicily’s iconic, historic centres for the day then why not drive to the Baroque city of Catania which is 35km away from the house or the stunning, exclusive hill town of Taormina is just 30km away!

Il Feudo is a spacious family home which sits in lush green hills in the East of Sicily. The views surrounding the villa are incredible; from the garden you will see the imposing Mount Etna to one side and the dazzling blue sea to the other. From your base here in this rural setting, you are well-placed for enjoying long walks and picnics or driving to the nearest villages and beaches which are easily reached.
Sicily’s long, sweeping beaches are one of the key attractions of the island and a reason that many visitors flock here year after year. Though the villa is set within verdant hills and farmland, the closest beaches are just 10km away. The nearest is Lido Atlantis, a pretty, pebbled beach which is home to a seasonal beach club and restaurant. The nearest sandy beach, Lido Palm Beach, is just a little further up the coastline and is a great place for sunbathing and splashing in the shallow water with the kids.
If you wish to pick up some ingredients for dinner or would like to head out for a peaceful coffee, then the nearest amenities are set in Nunziata, just 3km away from the villa. This small, hillside village is a charming place and hails back to the time of Greek settlement, while here you can visit the ancient churches and do a spot of shopping. There is a bakery, cheese shop, grocery shop, pizzeria and a café in the village.

You can find a wider range of shops and eateries in Riposto which is 9km away. The town sits on the waterfront in the shadow of Mount Etna and is a lovely place to wander around and enjoy dinner in one of the seafood restaurants overlooking the water.

Il Feudo is also situated half way between two amazing locations which you should add to your itinerary; the city of Catania, which is 35km away, and the hilltop town of Taormina which is 30km away.

Catania is a lively, bustling city which is packed with stunning Baroque buildings such as the awe-inspiring Cattedrale di Sant'Agata. There is lots to see and do here, including visiting the beaches, the staggering castle and a wide array of museums, churches and historic palaces. If you want to try the fresh, local seafood then you must pay a visit to Catania’s famous fish market or if you would prefer to go out for dinner then you will be spoilt for choice as there are an abundance of family-run restaurants dotted around the winding streets. One local dish you could try is called Pasta alla Norma, which you could follow up with some pistachio gelato.

If you carry on along the coastline from Catania you will reach the magical town of Taormina. This picture-perfect town is perched on a hill overlooking the sea and the stunning island of Isola Bella. It is packed with fine-dining restaurants and elegant bars where you can enjoy a delicious meal with amazing sea views. Taormina is also known for its rich history; the town was firstly a Greek settlement but was later home to Roman and Spanish communities which has led to the unique mixture of architecture. Some of the best-loved sites include the wonderful Greek-Roman theatre which is over 2000 years old and the island of Isola Bella and the beaches which surround it which can be reached by cable car and a short walk over the strip of sand which connect the small island to the mainland.
