About this property

Villa Luce is a stunning stately home, perched on a hilltop in 12 acres of private parkland and gardens. This historic villa is situated in the countryside close to Lake Como in Northern Italy, the location has plenty of green spaces and small traditional villages but is close to towns such as Lecco and Como which are under 25km away.

As you approach the grand villa down the lime tree lined driveway, you will appreciate the scale and beauty of this unique home and the serenity of the gardens and grounds. This historic home can sleep up to 22 guests across the main villa and the annexe, making the villa ideal for large family gatherings or special events.

The beautiful villa was designed by renowned architect Arpesani in the 1800s in a Florentine Renaissance style. Entering the hallway, you will see high ceilings, marble floors and ceilings and original paintings and antiques. The hall runs the length of the house and leads on to a series of elegant rooms including living areas, a fitted kitchen, a wood-panelled dining area and smaller, cosy sitting areas. Everywhere you look in the villa you will find original fireplaces, frescos, tapestries, marble columns and gorgeous in-keeping furniture. On top of all of the original features, you will be happy to hear that the home has all the modern facilities needed such as Wi-Fi.

Upstairs and in the annexe, you will find the sleeping accommodation with a staggering 11 bedrooms for your party to unwind in. Amongst the bedrooms, there are some suites and en-suite rooms and each room has been lovingly decorated.

Of course, the beautiful parkland and gardens of Villa Luce are some of the greatest features. The huge lawns and eating areas are perfect for hosting celebrations or simply spending time together in the evening sun. The expansive U-shaped pool is a great asset to the house in the summer months and even has an island of its own which is great for sunbathing! Close to the pool there is also a children’s sandpit and play equipment meaning there is something for everyone in this brilliant garden.

The villa is located within a village which has a selection of cafes, small shops and a chemist. Just 1.5km away there is also a bigger town which has a supermarket and a wide selection of eateries. When you wish to see a bit more of the area and experience the local culture, then a trip to Lecco is a must and is just 20km away. Lecco is a picturesque town and has lots on offer for everyone to see and do. The waterfront offers great views of the lake and mountains and here you are able to visit the historic bell tower of the Basilica of San Nicolò. If you are feeling brave, you can climb to the top of the 96-metre tower to take in panoramic views. From here you can head into town to explore the shops, restaurants, galleries and monuments.

Lake Como and the town of Como are situated 23km from the villa and this stunning place should definitely be included in your holiday itinerary!

Villa Luce is located in private parkland on the edge of a small village in the province of Lecco, Northern Italy. This location is perfect for a holiday which combines visits to the countryside and rural villages with trips to thriving towns and the beautiful lake Como.
Near to the house, you will find all of the amenities you need, from small cafes to a large selection of restaurants and supermarkets. Due to the semi-rural setting, you are also well-placed to try out plenty of outdoor activities nearby, including; hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horse-riding, canoeing, fishing, tennis and golf.
The villa is also ideally located for visiting lots of the nearby towns and sites such as Lecco, Como and even Milan.

Lecco has a great selection of bars, cafes, restaurants and monuments which surround the main squares such as the Piazza Zermenati. To get the best views of the area, head up to Piano d'Erna by cable car.
45-minutes away from Villa Luce is Como. The city’s glamour and status are reflected in its stunning buildings; churches, palaces and colourful squares. One of the most beautiful of the buildings is the cathedral which was started in 1396. If you are interested in history and culture, then Como is filled with incredible places to see, including; the Silk Museum, history museum, The Civic Art Gallery in Palazzo Volpi and the Archaeological museum! For better views of the lake, you could take a boat trip or head up the mountain-side by funicular railway before finding a great restaurant for dinner.
If you would like to Visit Milan, this fantastic city is an hour’s drive from the villa. Be sure to set off early to make the most of your trip! Milan is best known for its fashion and shopping scenes so you are sure to enjoy the shops there, but there are also great castles, opera houses, museums and churches to visit.
