Whether strolling through the historic piazza or picking up fresh produce from local shops, the atmosphere is quintessentially southern Italian.

In the other direction lies the untamed beauty of the Parco delle Dune di Campomarino (2km), a coastal reserve where soft sandy dunes roll down to meet the crystalline Ionian Sea. This wild stretch of beach is a haven for nature lovers, yet just a little further on, Campomarino’s small harbour marks the beginning of a livelier scene. Here, you’ll find a handful of welcoming eateries where you can savour fresh seafood after a morning swim.

This part of the Ionian coast offers endless opportunities for exploration, with a string of pristine beaches stretching towards Torre Lapillo and Porto Cesareo, or westward to the gorgeous coves of Lido Silvana and Spiaggia di Serrone.
