Originally a Masseria, a fortified farmhouse typical of the Puglia region, Villa Ciottolo has been immaculately transformed into a resort-style holiday retreat. It was once a luxury boutique hotel and now offers guests the combination of the privacy of a villa holiday while also still offering hotel-like services should the guests so choose to use them.
Surrounded by olive groves and gardens in a secluded area just outside the culinary town of Ceglie Messapica, the villa offers complete privacy for a group of up to eighteen.
Six bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are distributed throughout the main building, adjacent trullo built with authentic stones and poolside farmhouse conversion annexe.
Ample sunlight will surely draw guests to the expansive sunbathing area with plush sofas and a large pool. It's a great spot for alfresco dining too. There is no better way to end the day than with a quiet drink on the terrace while admiring the impressive and captivating panoramic views. The garden portico is perfect for relaxing to the soothing sounds of chirping birds, and when you want to explore, enjoy complimentary bikes.
Known as Italy’s “sunny heel,” Puglia boasts the longest coastline in mainland Italy. Stunning beaches and turquoise waters of the Apulia seas are within short driving distance, and the famous white washed trulli of Alberobello are within a 20-minute drive too.
Your stay will be highlighted by the discovery of several neighboring historical cities.
Martina Franca, Alberobello, Ostuni, Cisternino are all about a 20 minute drive away. The white sandy beaches of the two seas of Apulia are within driving distance.

The villa is perfect in every way....excellent location in mid-Puglia to reach bari (1.3 hours) monopoli and polignare a mare (50min), castellana grotte (50 min) alberobello (40 min) lecce (45min), matera, (1.5 hr) and of course all the small nearby towns like Martina Franca, Locorotundo, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica, etc which are all within 15-20 min. The staff, especially Lucia Daniela couldn't have done more or been nicer to us for the week. They made dinners, cleaned, recommended trips, arranged drivers....many times Lucia's family members who are all terrific. We will definitely go back!!!! Bedrooms are all perfect, with own baths. Also, the swimming pool is great.

The first thing you see when you enter the gates are the magnificent trulli and the beautiful white stone house and welcoming arches of the outdoor terrace. This is the best pool I have ever seen amongst the villas we book and it's so amazing it even has a diving board! At the front, the villa has a beautiful olive grove and the property offers the kind of peace you need when on that well deserved holiday as it is quite protected from the outer world. Nonetheless, stunning Ostuni is only 20 minutes away and the towns of Ceglie Messepica and Martina Franca offer a super food scene. If you do travel to Alberobello, take the back roads as they will take you there much quicker!'

Villa Ciottolo is the perfect destination for families and groups of close friends looking to unwind amidst the olive and pomegranate trees and the peace of the Puglian countryside. We have booked with the same friends in the past and usually some of the rooms are considerably smaller. That makes room allocation impossible! With Ciottolo you do not have that issue. All rooms are sizeable, they have great views and each of them has access to a terrace with 2 being separate houses in themselves! Ciottolo has some fantastic restaurants nearby so this is paradise for any foodie. Ostuni is also so close and it provides again for great sightseeing, shopping and again, a somewhat mind blowing food scene. Loved it and will recommend it to friends.
