Overlooking olive groves, rolling hills and vineyards, just 8km inland from the historic town of Monopoli and the nearest beaches, Trullo Riparo is a beautiful home in the perfect location. From your base at the villa, you are well-placed for exploring the countryside as well as spending time visiting towns such as Polignano a Mare and Alberobello.



The home sits in a vast, leafy garden which is further surrounded by 60 hectares of private meadows and lavender fields. This setting offers guests a serene oasis where you can immerse yourself in the natural surroundings and enjoy time away from the stresses of day-to-day life. The villa itself is made up of two, centuries-old Trullo buildings; these pretty, whitewashed buildings with cone-shaped roofs are only found in Puglia and blend seamlessly in the surrounding landscape. While the exteriors of the trulli have been preserved and look unchanged, the interiors have been carefully restored and updated by an experienced architect in order to maintain the charm and character of the building.

The welcoming home offers a living space with a large curved sofa, a cosy kitchen and two bedrooms. The master bedroom is light and airy and opens out on to the garden, there is a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and even an outdoor bathroom where you can shower or bathe al-fresco in the balmy evenings. There is also another spacious double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. If you need to accommodate six guests, two people can sleep on the double sofa bed which is located on a mezzanine level.

In addition to the smaller kitchen within the home, there is a large, fully-equipped kitchen just outside on a covered terrace. The weather here is often wonderful, so you are sure to wish to make the most of your time outdoors! Next to the kitchen there is also a spacious, shaded dining terrace with an atmospheric fireplace for cosy evenings in the garden.

Outdoors you will also find a private swimming pool, seating areas and a vast garden filled with lawns, floral shrubbery and olive trees. The home is enveloped by a patchwork of fields and olive groves which lead out on to country trails where you can walk, hike or cycle. You could also enjoy the great outdoors by visiting a local vineyard or taking a trip to Savelletri’s famous golf courses which are 21km away by car.

The nearest major town to the villa is Monopoli; an ancient, coastal town which is 8km away. The town is a picturesque place which has everything you could need during your holiday. You will find historic attractions, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants lining the busy streets. In addition to the amenities, there are also gorgeous beaches such as Cala Porta Vecchia which is the main beach offering soft sand and clear waters. As well as Monopoli, guests can also visit the exclusive town of Polignano a Mare which is just 10km away and is a must visit location!

Trullo Riparo is nestled within picture-perfect countryside, yet the beaches and towns of Monopoli and Polignano a Mare are both 10km away or less. From this idyllic setting you are perfectly placed for exploring the rural surroundings during the day, followed by dinner and a few drinks in one of the vibrant seaside towns in the evening. This is a wonderful place to stay for getting to know the authentic Puglia.
The home sits in a landscape of verdant rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards, the ideal location for a relaxed break with your nearest and dearest. Here you can start your day with a run through the surrounding country lanes or maybe just a gentle stroll amidst the vineyards, followed by a picnic in a scenic spot.
If you would like do a little shopping or wish to dine out in the evenings, why not head in to Monopoli which is the nearest large town to the home at 8km away. Monopoli is a fantastic town to have so close, it is not as busy as the neighbouring town of Polignano a Mare, yet it is packed with cultural attractions and amenities and lined by stunning beaches. The town offers a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants, with everything from traditional trattorias to fine dining available.

As you wander around the pretty streets you will get a sense of the rich history of the town, which was initially an ancient Greek settlement. Pay a visit to the incredible Cattedrale Maria Santissima della Madia which is one of Italy’s oldest churches, inside you can see the ornate carvings and art works. You can also see the staggering 16th century castle known as Castello Carlo V. Built during occupation by the Spanish, this fascinating castle is still in great condition and is open to the public, here you can see the prison cells and towers, plus panoramic views from the top. In addition to the bustling town, you can also visit Monopoli’s beaches; there are an array of sandy coves, plus the brilliant main beach, the Cala Porta Vecchia. If you would like to try out some water sports or take a boat trip, both are available.

Just 10km away from the home, you can also visit Polignano a Mare. This must-visit location can get quite busy, so it is worth setting off early to secure a spot on the beaches, which are amongst the most photographed in the country. Cala Porto beach is the favourite, while Ponte dei Lapilli is equally inviting and less crowded. On top of the amazing beaches, the town has plenty to see and so such as museums, galleries and historic churches for you to discover. If you have an interest in poetry, or just fancy a walk around the old town, why not follow the poetry trail around the picturesque streets.

Another great thing to do when in Polignano a Mare is to see the beaches from the water by setting off on a boat tour. For a memorable day out, you could spend some time exploring Castellana Grotte which is 13km away. This is breath-taking system of caves is one of Puglia’s best-loved tourist attractions and as you enter the 90-million-year-old caves, you will understand why. Your guide will take you through the underground caves which are packed with fossils and cave formations.

While staying at Trullo Riparo, you may wish to see one of the area’s Trulli towns; towns which are filled with the quaint, whitewashed buildings with cone-shaped roofs. Alberobello is one of the best-preserved towns and is a mere 22km away from the home by car.
