There is also a beautiful, unspoilt sandy beach just 15 minutes' walk from your Kilcar cottage with safe swimming available, and Fr. McDyer's famous Glencolmcille Folk village, one of Ireland's best living-history museums, is just a fifteen-minute drive away. The village of Kilcar is also a short drive away and has a selection of shops and pubs where a friendly greeting is assured. Traditional music is a feature of many of the local taverns, and visitors will truly feel that they've experienced authentic Irish culture. Further afield, why not pick up the catch of the day in the fishing town of Killybegs, or even take to the waves yourself to see what bites? There's also a lot of shore, river and lake fishing available locally.
