Tucked away in a remote corner of Ireland is this elegant, detached country cottage, set in the heart of County Cavan between the town of Cavan itself and Belturbet. Drumlaney is the perfect base to spend a weekend of celebration for a family gathering, exploring the rural gems of the Cavan lakeland. Set over two floors, this lavish dwelling welcomes you onto one acre of idyllic grounds and towards a large entrance, where your very own private patio awaits outside, a perfect spot to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining from the barbecue in this peaceful setting. Stepping through the property, be charmed by the crisp interior, fitted with contemporary furnishings with a country-style twist, making your way into one of the reception rooms for a night of fun The ground floor benefits from plenty of space to fill your evenings, including a sociable space to gather with your loved ones in the sitting room, a homely space where you can snuggle in front of the woodburning stove during a family film night, or enjoy a moment of alone time in the glorious sun room, curling up with a good book and a glass of wine on a warm day. Alternatively, the kids can be entertained in the games room, a fabulous little den which houses cool leather sofas, a TV and table tennis. The designated chef will be enthralled by the spacious kitchen/diner, boasting fantastic amenities alongside sleek fixtures, as well as a stylish breakfast bar for casual meals and an intimate dining table for hosting special occasions. Completing the ground floor is a handy cloakroom with a basin and WC, ideal for avoiding morning bathroom queues. If you can tear yourself away from the property, explore the surrounding grounds which span over one acre, letting your furry friends run free whilst you delight in an afternoon picnic on a summer's day, or crossing the road over to the expansive Drumlaney Lough for an afternoon of fishing among sparkling waters or even Annagh Lake for game angling. Right beside the property is Castlesaunderson which is a park with lovely walks and an old castle to enjoy. The village of Redhills is just a short journey away, providing a well-stocked local shop for all your essentials, as well as a welcoming country pub where you can enjoy a refreshing pint of ale alongside a spot of pub grub. The cottage is only 4 miles from Belturbet, which is a lovely town on the Shannon-Erne Waterway where you can hire boats to enjoy the lovely surrounding areas. The property is set in the hub of Cavan Lakeland, a special river system with access to over a hundred lakes in the cavern, explore the unique lakes around here, trying your luck at fishing, boating, or enjoying watersports all year round. Venture over to the Marble Arch Caves for a marvelous day out, delighting in boat rides and underground cave tours resting at the foothills of Cuilcagh Mountain, or delve into a memorable guided tour at the Arigna Mining Experience. Spend a day in one of the nearby villages such as Ballyconnell or Belturbet, home to a wider selection of shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as opportunities for rural walking and cycling. Take a trip to Lisnaskea to enjoy the discovery village and water park.
