You will arrive at the castle and the picturesque harbour and the peaceful, sheltered bay. Enjoy a bite to eat in the delightful restaurant and pub. Walk to the other quays, and further along the coast to secluded beaches. There is a childrens' playground and tennis court in the village. Take a trip to the nearby town of Skibbereen, which offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and amenities to enjoy. Activities available in this stunning region of West Cork include watersports, horse riding and golf, and there are countless scenic walks and drives nearby, which won't fail to inspire you. The rugged coastline is punctuated by many more beautiful golden beaches including those at Tragumna, Ardgehane and Owenahincha. Castletownshend is a coastal village near Skibbereen in County Cork. The village is built up around the 17th century castle, with the quayside and harbour also attractive focal points of the village. A few miles down the road, the town of Skibbereen offers plenty of shops and restaurants, the West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre. There is also a good golf course, and an indoor sports centre. A terrific base for enjoying this part of Cork.
