Situated in the heart of the countryside near the village of Conna in North Cork, is this cosy detached cottage. Located next to the owners home and enjoying views of Conna Castle and the Bride River Valley, this cottage has been lovingly decorated to offer guests a home away from home. Featuring a well-equipped kitchen and dining area where you can wine and dine with your loved ones, this cottage also boasts a welcoming sitting room, where you can curl up by the solid fuel stove after a long day. Three comfortable bedrooms complete the accommodation at this cottage, one of which boasts an en-suite shower room for added comfort and convenience during your stay. The front garden of the cottage is a lovely place to relax with a refreshing drink, whilst the children and dogs play safely, and enjoy unspoilt views of Conna Castle, a five-storey tower house which lies on a limestone outcrop close to the River Bride. The village of Conna is home to a selection of shops and pubs and is just nine miles from both the popular town of Fermoy and the historic town of Lismore in County Waterford. Fermoy is home to plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants and holidaymakers will revere at the impressive Lismore Castle and Gardens. The area provides excellent fishing opportunities with the River Blackwater dominating the region to the north and to the east of Conna. A short drive will take you to the east coast where you can enjoy the seaside villages of Ardmore, Youghal and Dungarvan, home to sandy beaches, golf courses and glorious coastal scenery. A truly splendid base to explore this part of Ireland.
The village of Conna is situated in County Cork, close to the border with County Waterford. The village is located on the River Bride, a tributary of the Blackwater River which offers excellent brown trout and salmon fishing, and is also home to Conna Castle, which dates back to c. 1500 and sits in a dramatic position on a rock overlooking the River Bride. Just 5 miles away, in the county of Waterford, is the town of Tallow, which is situated deep in a valley on the Blackwater Valley Scenic Drive, while the town of Fermoy is 10 miles away, in the centre of the Blackwater Valley, renowned for its inland fishing and a great base for exploring the history of north and east County Cork.
