Guests say

Guests consistently praise The Dispensary for its tranquility, cleanliness, and the warm hospitality provided by hosts Margaret and John. The cottage's historic charm and peaceful village setting offer a relaxing retreat. Thoughtful touches, such as homemade bread and jam, contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, although these kind gestures are not guaranteed for every stay.

Reviewers frequently mention the cleanliness of the cottage, describing it as spotless and well-maintained, which reflects a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its quietness and peacefulness, with a river and scenic surroundings. It serves as a good base for exploring East Cork, although some guests noted the lack of phone signal.

The cottage is repeatedly described as comfortable and cosy, with a warm bed and sufficient heating. However, a few guests mentioned that the space is quite small, which slightly impacts the comfort score.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful breakfast provisions. However, some guests noted the basic toilet and shower facilities, and the absence of WiFi and phone coverage, which affects the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is a highlight, with numerous mentions of breakfast items and homemade treats. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, while common, are not guaranteed.

Road not too close with little traffic. Lovely area to sit outside and facing the sun all day. Idyllic setting. Near beaches and lovely places to visit

Brilliant as we had no time to shop and were exhausted. A perfect start to the holiday once we arrived. The owners were lovely. The place is very comfortable and we slept so well. The area is lovely and so are the local people. We would most certainly recommend people visit here. We left completely rested at the end of our holiday and were sad to leave. If we are in the area again we would love to go back.
