Pay a visit to Ring Strand which is only a short 5 minute stroll from the cottage, where you can while away the days relaxing upon the sandy trails, paddling the shores, or getting lost in a good book, before refuelling with some traditional fish and chips at The Chippy Cottage. There is also a fish and chip van at Knockadoon Pier called the Lobster Pot which is very popular with visitors after completing the Knockadoon Cliff Walk or with kids after jumping in off the pier. if you prefer something more sophisticated, head to the seaside resort town of Youghal, home to several fantastic restaurants including Table 8 Bistro and Clancy’s Bar and Restaurant. Further afield, discover Ballyannan Castle, Ballyannan Woods – Midleton Forest and Fota Wildlife Park, in addition to the popular city of Cork, where you can uncover the delights of Cork Opera House, Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral and Cork City Gaol, guaranteeing a fascinating day out. The tiny community of Ballymacoda is located in East Cork, near to the sandy beach at Ring Strand.
