Situated between the towns of Waterville and Kenmare, the village of Sneem is on the route of the Kerry Way. It has a variety of shops, pubs and tea-rooms, and its brightly coloured houses add to the vibrant atmosphere making it a popular spot. It is widely believed that it is not possible to complete a circuit of the Ring of Kerry without passing through this lovely village. Waterville and Kenmare both make for an excellent day out and are close by, as is the beautiful Killarney National Park with its stunning scenery, a must for keen walkers. Macgillicuddy's Reeks, the highest mountain range in Ireland, offers challenging terrain for the more experienced walker. This wonderful area has a lot to offer as a holiday destination.

The house is lovely, in a quiet spot close to the village of Sneem. The kitchen is well equipped with a large oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are ample cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, and it was all very clean. The bedrooms are all a good size, and the ensuite shower rooms are in good condition. Living spaces are comfortable and there is plenty of seating for a large group, however this was not replicated outside where the garden furniture needed attention. The owner lives nearby and responded to requests for help quickly.

The house itself is very spacious with a lovely big table for us all to sit around and two good seating areas allowing for people to do their own thing. The bedrooms are good and many are en suite. The location of River House is outstanding and so peaceful but is only a stone's throw from the lovely friendly village of Sneem. Noel, the host could not have been more helpful to us during our stay. Sneem is an ideal place to stay in order to take advantage of the magnificent countryside, beaches and surroundings that The Ring of Kerry offers. We walked for miles., I thoroughly recommend River House.
