The seaside town of Kilkee is a hub of activity during the summer months and is home to all the typical seaside attractions you would expect, including a vast stretch of sandy beach perfect for swimming, seafood eateries, traditional pubs, amusements, swimming pool, ice cream shops and, of course, a fish and chip shop! Kilkee is the gateway to the Loop Head Peninsula and offers a wealth of breathtaking scenery, including a cliff walk, Loop Head Lighthouse and some of the most memorable seascapes in the region. Golf enthusiasts can practise their swing at the Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, where the course backs on to the Atlantic Ocean for a very picturesque game of golf! A little bit further afield is the town of Milltown Malbay, famous for the Willie Clancy music festival each year, and the surf capital of Lahinch. Why not test out your head for heights on the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most famous attractions, or meander along the historic cobbled streets of Ennis? A twenty-minute drive will take you to the ferry port, where you can catch the car ferry across to County Kerry, where even more wonder awaits you! A wonderful base for your Clare getaway.
