Fethard-on-Sea is a village to the east of the Hook Peninsula, in County Wexford. A quiet fishing and holiday village, Fethard makes a great base to enjoy the harbour, sandy beaches, shops and pubs. The Hook Peninsula attracts visitors to its beaches and activities including walking, golf and horse riding. Head up to New Ross and visit the JFK Arboretum or the Dunbrody Famine Ship, or travel over to Waterford in the west or Wexford in the east to take in all they have to offer.

We had our privacy with no noise or neighbours. It's at the bottom of a road. I'm guessing it was once a farmhouse and working farm. The land is great and plenty of space for everyone inside the cottage. Our party size was 8 people, from 19months old to 77 years of age. Well equipped with with lots of towels. Everything we needed was there. The owner has thought of and provided everything to get you started and settled in. Home baked apple cake and brown bread was waiting for us on the kitchen table. Only thing it lacked was pegs for the washing line, although there are a few, with our party size we could of done with a few more, other than couldn't fault it. So peaceful, first morning I was up early and saw some rabbits out front running about and there were pheasants round the back. Will definitely stay again and recommend. Village of Fethard is about ten min walk up with a cafe, few lovely pubs and restaurant and chippy which all serve amazing food. Gorgeous beaches close by, we had a fab week here. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for having us

The beach at Hook Head was first class, even had a nice little coffee and ice cream cafe by the car park. Itâs definitely on the short list for a return visit
