This delightful semi-detached cottage sits next to the welcoming owner's home, close to the River Slaney, in an area called Ballycarney, 6 miles from Enniscorthy in County Wexford. This Wexford cottage was once a former coach house, and retains much of its original charm. It has been thoughtfully furnished to offer an ideal base for a small family or a romantic getaway. Set entirely over the ground floor, this beautiful Ballycarney cottage has two comfortable bedrooms, a shower room, and a spacious, open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. With a contemporary design, this cottage offers a little luxury with a warming multi-fuel stove, quality furnishings, and large windows that allow the sun to flood in. This Ballycarney cottage sits within walking distance of the banks of the River Slaney, where guests can take a leisurely stroll in the sunshine, or try their hand at fishing on these famed waters. Enniscorthy, with its rich history and great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants is only six miles away, and within half an hour's drive is the lovely Wexford coastline, in particular the pretty, popular seaside resort of Courtown which offers a fantastic day out. Also only 10 miles away are the famous Blackstairs Mountains, which offer fantastic hill walking opportunities, and 5 miles away is the delightful rural town of Bunclody, where you will find a fabulous scenic golf course. There is a further interactive museum in the town dedicated to telling the story of the famous 1798 rising. Nowadays the town has a wealth of facilities available to visitors including a multiplex cinema, a swimming pool and leisure centre, a fantastic mixture of shops, pubs and restaurants, and a farmers' market, which is held every Saturday. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. The property was warm and cosy with a lovely log burner Christmas lights on and scones jam & cream waiting on the table when we got there very late at night. Thanks to Caroline and Trevor . Liz

Welcome gift on arrival. Quaint cottage. Log fire appreciated. Shower useable, however small washer repair needed on shower head to prevent leaking. Ould definitely return for summer stay if available.

Everything was clean and spotless, loved the wood burning stove even if we didn't get the chance to light it because it was so warm. Its a great base for touring and exploring the area and we appreciated all the tourist information that was left out for us to read through. Caroline and Trevor are very friendly and helpful hosts and always have time for a chat. Would definitely recommend staying here and would go back if we're ever in the area again.
