Right on your doorstep, you will find Coral Strand Beach, where you can enjoy leisurely walks with your loved ones as you breathe in the fresh sea air. For your amenities, take a scenic drive along the causeway Lettermore, where you can stock up on essentials at the convenience store, or sample the local ales at Tigh Plunkett. For a memorable day trip, why not hop aboard a ferry to the Aran Island? Further afield, you will find the coastal town of Clifden, home to the ruins of Clifden Castle, the John D’Arcy Monument, the Clifen Monastery Walled Garden and The Station House Museum. After making the most of the town, you can sample delicious Asian cuisine at Jasmine Garden, pub classics at Ravi’s Bar and Restaurant or fresh seafood from Mitchell’s. Your next Irish escape awaits at Tí Tom Nárta.

Lettermore is a charming settlement on a small island off the coast of County Galway, Ireland, and is part of the Wild Atlantic Way, which is only accessible via a narrow causeway. An Irish bar, an old-fashioned butcher's shop, and a tiny convenience store are all located in the village, making it a great place for visitors to get a taste of Ireland's rich history. An ideal starting point for a wide choice of fascinating activities, this stunning setting is unsurpassed in terms of its natural beauty and attractiveness. Sailing, fishing, and scuba diving are just a few of the activities available at the area's many coves, beaches, and inlets.

While Galway is an excellent base from which to explore Connemara National Park, the Aran Islands, which are right off the coast in Galway Bay, are a must-see for anybody visiting this region of Ireland.

Visitors of every age or interest can enjoy it year-round.

It’s in a great location, has loads of tv channels and is very spacious and modern in the kitchen and living areas but the bathrooms are very small and we didn’t feel the cottage had much personality or any welcoming feel. Outside, there’s no name to identify the property and the grounds are rough and full of weeds and litter. Inside, even though we arrived after the cleaners had been, the heating was off despite the recent sub zero temperatures and the place was stone cold. There was no welcome note or milk, no fuel for the wood burner or any information about the oil heating, waste disposal, any local maps, suggestions or visitors book. Even the wall switch for the cooker is unmarked. A lack of soft furnishings and décor means the cottage looks a little bare and is a little noisy. The bed was comfortable and the bedding and towels clean and of reasonable quality. Whilst the floors, furniture and bathrooms were clean, the oven trays were in such a state they needed to be lined with foil and all the cooking pans we used needed to be thoroughly cleaned first. It’s a functional, spacious cottage in a great location with fantastic views and I imagine it would be a much better stay in summer than winter but if we were in this area again, we’d be staying elsewhere.

.. from the spacious comfort of the house, the friendly and so helpful owner and her family, the beauty of the winding lanes and the tiny fields with quirky stone walls, fantastic swimming a minutes walk down the road, the views from the house especially as we ate our evening meal outside looking over to the Aran Islands , the wild flowers and fuscia, feeding apples to the donkeys, the beautiful connemara ponies and foals, the seaweed baths at the seaweed centre, exploring and finding the white sand beaches at Furnace and above all the random conversations with the local people who have been the friendliest we have ever encountered. I was sad leaving.

Outside area is rough and could do with some attention, especially as there is a clothes line at back of garage .We had a fantastic stay and will be booking again next year .
