There are many pubs, cafes and restaurants in the town as the many tourists stop off enroute to Connemara. Travel to Clifden, an oasis in the west and savour the local cuisine and tradition. Immerse yourself in the many villages and attractions throughout Connemara as you wind your way through this unique location. The traditional village of Oughterard is found in the west of Ireland on the shores of Lough Corrib, at the start of the Connemara Mountain range and close to the famous Western Way. Home to the Oughterard 18-hole championship golf course, Derroura Mountain Bike Trail and Aughnanure Castle, there are lots of things to see and do, and located next to Lough Corrib, Oughterard is great for lovers of fishing. Just a short drive away in Roscahil is the pretty Brigit's Garden; with four main gardens and places to play, sit and relax, this is a great day out for all the family.
