About this property

A fabulous detached stone cottage, in an elevated position on the fringes of Lettermore village, located on the Wild Atlantic Way, close to the sea in County Galway. The property has a rich history dating back over 100 years, and was formerly the village shop. Offering superb views, the cottage has been lovingly restored to provide spacious and welcoming accommodation full of character and original features, yet benefiting from all modern conveniences. Only a short walk away is the village centre, with a welcoming pub and local convenience store, whilst just a few miles outside the village golfers will be delighted to discover a challenging links course, complete with a tee shot over the Atlantic Ocean onto a small island! Alternatively, why not explore the nearby Connemara National Park, or cast a line into one of the many well-stocked fishing lakes that the area has to offer? An exceptional cottage, in a beautiful location.

Located on a small island in the south west corner of County Galway, the pretty village of Lettermore is connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway. This village is home to a welcoming Irish pub, a small convenience store and traditional butcher's shop, and is also located in an area where the Irish language is still prevalent. This beautiful area of unspoiled countryside offers a wide range of walking and cycling opportunities, as well as great spots for water sports. There are numerous coves, beaches and inlets to explore along the coastline, in addition to great opportunities for sailing, fishing and scuba diving. The Connemara National Park is only a short drive away, whilst the Aran Islands are located just off the coast in Galway Bay.

Lovely to be met by Cepta on arrival and have the property explained. The real peat fire in the kitchen was a real plus and the property was spacious and light. Great views from the patio which all added up to an unforgettable holiday. 10/10.

Very spacious. Lovely views. Comfortable beds and sofas. Owner was very responsive. The cottage is very well equipped and has everything you could want. The local people are very friendly and helpful and the area is stunningly beautiful. We had such a lovely stay and would definately return.

House was ideal for our group of four (a couple and two other adults) and had fabulous views across the water. We had two cars and were able to explore widely along the Wild Atlantic Way and around Connemara. A very successful holiday.
