Guests say

Cavan Hill Cottage is praised for its peaceful, rural setting and friendly owners, offering a cosy and comfortable stay. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas of Galway and Mayo. While some guests mention issues with showers and beds, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage clean and tidy, while others noted issues with mould, dirty appliances, and cobwebs. The positive comments suggest that cleanliness is generally maintained, but there is room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local towns and attractions. It is considered a great base for exploring western Ireland, with easy access to outdoor activities and scenic spots.

Guests find the cottage cosy and warm, but there are several mentions of uncomfortable beds and poor shower facilities. The overall comfort is satisfactory for most, but these issues have affected the experience for some visitors.

The cottage is well-equipped for a comfortable stay, but there are reports of maintenance issues such as broken shower units, unstable toilet bowls, and outdated kitchen appliances. The quick response from the owner to some problems is noted positively.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

We would rent it again without hesitation. One point of note for other renters, Cavan Hill Cottage is part of a working farm. The cottage is in very close proximity to other utility farm buildings and the owners home. This didn't bother us, in fact, we loved the tranquil country setting, comfortable cottage, and I personally felt right at home, as I grew up on a farm. You may want to mention this in your listing for those looking for a bit more distance between their rental and working farm conditions.
