With so much to see on the beautiful island of Santorini, there is nothing better than returning each day to your own private retreat. Assyrtiko is located in the picturesque countryside just outside of Oia, bordered by vineyards and with sweeping views across to the sea - everything about this setting is calm and tranquil.

The villa carefully combines traditional Cycladic architecture with contemporary design, mixing soft materials with modern furnishings to create beautiful interiors and a serene atmosphere throughout the property. With a private veranda, the combination of indoor and outdoor living space is delicately balanced, with sunlight flooding into the interior making each room as light and airy as possible.

The main living space is open-plan with a fully-equipped kitchen, dining table and living room. Although small, the kitchen has everything you need to prepare delicious homecooked meals using local ingredients. Each piece of furniture has been specifically chosen for this space, making it feel beautifully curated, flowing from one room to another and easily out onto the terrace, maintaining the same laid-back ambience.

Assyrtiko has two bedrooms, both of which have luxury king-size beds with extremely soft mattresses that you can sink down into each night, waking up as cosy as ever each morning. There is an ethereal sense to the rooms as the sunlight drifts in through each window, waking you up naturally in the morning, making there no need for an alarm.

Outside the greatest distraction are the views! You can watch the sun rise each morning from the veranda, and catch a glimpse of the famous Oia sunset, although we would recommend making your way into the town in order to see the full extent of the beautiful light each evening. The private pool is half under a dome and half under the sky, adding an intimate feel and softening the barriers between the indoor and outdoor space. There is a lounging space where you can sit back and read a book or chat long into the evening with your loved ones. Assyrtiko offers the perfect balance, a private villa in a tranquil location, yet you are less than 15-minutes’ walk from the beach and 30-minutes’ walk from Oia, or even closer with a car.

If you are looking for sweeping sea views, picturesque sandy beaches, breath-taking sunsets and beautiful Grecian architecture, then there is no better place than Santorini. Well-known as a popular tourist destination, in peak seasons the towns come alive, with bustling restaurants, bars and shops, all with beautiful views across the island. Even in peak times you can still find quiet corners to enjoy the tranquillity of this breath-taking place, with hidden gems spread over the island for you to find. Santorini is also popular due to the fabulous local wineries and fine-dining restaurants, adding a taste of luxury to your holiday, perfect for special occasions or holiday treats! There are also many traditional Greek tavernas, with relaxed atmospheres and family-friendly menus, perfect for a more relaxed meal!  

Assyrtiko sits in a quiet location, in the beautiful countryside surrounding Oia. As part of a trio of villas overlooking the vineyards and with views to the sea, this area feels like an escape from the busier tourist towns, yet it is near enough for you to enjoy the benefits of their amenities. If you are travelling as a large group you can rent more than one of the properties, although they all have their own privacy and charm, so renting just one as a family is perfect.

For your convenience, the villa is located just a 30-minute walk, or 3-minute drive from the centre of Oia. If you need a supermarket, shops, bakery or pharmacy, you will find everything you need in this charming town. Oia is famed for its breath-taking sunsets, partially visible from the villa itself, but the best view comes from the rooftop restaurants in the town, with the sky lit up with a myriad of colours as the sun sets on the horizon. As you amble towards the town, it can be easily identified, by the whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, forming a maze of local shops, restaurants, cafes and bars that you can spend hours winding your way around.

With a private swimming pool on the terrace and a beach within a short walk, there are plenty of swimming opportunities! Less than 15-minutes from your front doors you will find yourself walking along sandy shores, dipping into the sea to cool off on hot summer days. There are also more beautiful beaches that are just a short drive away, so make sure you explore a few during your stay.
