About this property

Aidani is a modern, simple holiday home, offering the antithesis of contemporary design combined with traditional Cycladic features, maintaining a welcoming, cosy feel for all guests. Located below the hilltop village of Firon, and part of a complex of four villas, the property boasts two private verandas looking out over the surrounding vineyards to the glistening Aegean Sea in the distance. From the moment you arrive, it feels as though the romance of Santorini has been pulled within the villa’s walls, leaving a sense of serenity perfect for romantic holidays and intimate moments with your loved ones.

The villa’s modern design adopts the principles of Cycladic architecture, custom-designed to this beautiful setting. The windows frame picturesque views and the interior walls reflect light into every corner of the villa, making the entire space feel bright and airy. All the living spaces are on one floor, with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, perfect for relaxed afternoons cooking meals, dining together and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. The space feels intimate and yet spacious, with contemporary furnishings that softly blend the modern and traditional together.

The property has two double bedrooms, one of which has a loft space with a further mattress each have French doors to the terrace, overlooking the countryside. All the windows have traditional blue shutters too. The beds in each room are incredibly comfortable, with soft bedding that you can sink into each night, adding a sense of luxury to your stay. There is a laid-back, relaxing feel to each of the bedrooms, with room for you to unpack all your belongings and settle in, making yourself at home for the duration of your stay.

Outside, the two verandas encompass the serene atmosphere of the island as a whole. Offering sweeping views out across the vineyards and the sea, with space to dine al-fresco and your own jacuzzi where you can cool off from the summer heat. There are two hydro-massage seats within the pool that make it even easier to relax! With a beach within a short walking distance and the charming whitewashed town of Oia just a 30-minute walk or short drive away, you have everything you need to make your stay magical.

Santorini has been a popular holiday destination for years, a beautiful volcanic island rising out of the Aegean Sea, offering dramatic ocean views, breathtaking beaches, famous sunsets, traditional Grecian architecture and fabulous local wineries! During peak season the island becomes busy with tourists, revitalizing the towns and beaches with visitors looking to enjoy the charm and beauty of this island. There are a mix of fine-dining restaurants with traditional Greek tavernas, many positioned in exclusive spots with remarkable sea views!

Aidani is in a privileged setting in the beautiful countryside surrounding Oia. With views to the Aegean Sea across the local vineyards and countryside, every element of this location feels tranquil – a true escape from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. The closest of these vineyards is just 10 minute's walk away and has a restaurant, with delicious foods. There are three beautiful villas within this area, perfect if you have multiple families travelling together, although they all offer privacy. Just over a kilometre above is the cute village of Firon, where a few eateries and a local village feel. Take a torch for walking back after supper.

The villa sits just a 30-minute walk, or 5-minute drive from the centre of Oia, so you can stroll in at any time, heading to the supermarket, picking up fresh bread from the bakeries, or enjoy a meal at one of the many local eateries, all serving delicious Mediterranean dishes. Oia is beautiful in itself, with whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops that climb out from the sea. The picturesque and incredibly photogenic town offers a maze of local shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, with a bustling and lively atmosphere that perfectly accompanies the tranquillity of the villa. The sunsets in the town are famous for their beauty, partly visible from the villa, however, we recommend heading into Oia one evening to fully appreciate the beauty of the colours gleaming across the night sky – you could even buy yourself a cocktail to enjoy whilst you watch!

The villa is also just a short walk from the closest beach, so you can wander down at any time, strolling along the sandy shore or dipping in the sea to cool off. This is ideal for families that don't want to be getting in and out of a car all the time.

Other must-do things in Santorini are a Catamaran, boat trip, a wine tour of the island, and a trip to the sunset spot in Oia. There is also horseriding on the beach, that is very popular. After any of these, you'll enjoy escaping back to the tranquillity of Aidani.

Aidani is set in a small complex with a friendly owner who can help you navigate the island. Ample parking (which we soon discovered is rare in Santorini), a lovely Jacuzzi from which you can enjoy some of the island's special sunset, very comfortable beds and a lovely relaxed feel. It's a great base to explore the island, or you can walk to the beach, walk up to the nearby village for dinner or simply wander a few steps to the local vineyard. Highly recommended.

The property is overlooking the town and the sea in a quiet setting. The rooms has large outdoor terraces with a splash pool and great views. There is a good size kitchen and dining area with a well stocked fridge, and breakfast is served in your kitchen or terrace. Depending on your selection you will have one or two bedrooms and a nice bathroom. Whilst it is a quiet area, the Sigalas winery is only a 3 minute walk down the road, thus there has never been a better time for a wine tasting. A great Villa and fantastic service so don't miss it when in Santorini.

We had amazing time staying here at Villa Aidani. As first timers in Santorini, we had no idea what to expect, except the blue roofs, blue sky and blue sea. In Villa Aidani it turned out to be ten days in paradise! After waking up, a delicious breakfast was served. Then lying in the sun, cooling down in the swimming pool and later in the afternoon visiting beautiful places like Oia, Fira, Imerovigli, Pyrgos and many others. Diner in one of the restaurants, recommended by Yota, our wonderful host. And ending the day with a glass of good Greek wine. One day we’ve cruised the west coast (caldera) with an organized boat trip (on a catamaran), advised and arranged by Yota. A great experience and an absolute must! Ten days in this Greek paradise really loaded our batteries. Thanks so much Yota, for this wonderful holiday!
