Villa Sunkiss is part of a small complex of six luxury properties that are surrounded by nature, reflecting the earth’s delicate ecosystem. Combine this back-to-nature ethos, with warm Greek hospitality, and a relaxing ambience, for the ultimate escape from it all holiday. This one-storey villa is set in impressive tropical gardens, populated by mature tall palm trees, local plants, and colourful seasonal flowers. The villa is surrounded by an immaculately manicured lawn and has its own private heated swimming pool.

Villa Sunkiss benefits from breathtaking views of the nearby sandy beach and the azure Aegean Sea. The villa has been designed to embrace ethical luxurious living with modern-day amenities, including complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout, and state-of-the-art technology. The interiors are furnished with hand-crafted pieces made from locally sourced natural wood, and the villa is decorated in a cool palette of crisp clean whites, creamy beiges, and subtle earth tones. A stay at Villa Sunkiss includes the use of the communal “Platia” facilities, where you can meet fellow guests at the bar, improve your whiff whaff with a game of table tennis, whilst your children enjoy the dedicated playground, then dine off local delicacies grilled on the gas barbeque, as you settle down to watch your favourite film at the open air cinema. And for those of you who enjoy a sun salutation, there are regular yoga sessions hosted on the lawns.

Enter the villa to discover a holiday home of light and airy open-plan living, with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that flood the rooms with natural light and cool sea breezes. The seating area has a comfortable sofa that transforms into a sofa bed for two, a coffee table, and a flat-screen television with a Sonos sound system. The adjacent natural wood kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for a happy holiday, including a built-in oven and hob, a fridge, and that must-have Nespresso coffee maker. The informal indoor dining set is the ideal spot for breakfast. Villa Sunkiss has two spacious bedrooms, both with double beds, open wardrobes, flat-screen smart televisions, direct access to the terrace, and best of all, stunning sea views. There are two stylish modern bathrooms, both with walk-in rain showers, hand basins, WCs, and complimentary eco-friendly toiletries. Access the tiled terrace through the living space and bedrooms, where you will find an inviting step-entry private swimming pool, with a built-in platform that is home to a deep cushioned double sun lounger. Wooden sun loungers, deeply cushioned day beds and bean bags surround the pool, and a hammock is a perfect place to lie back and catch up with this month’s copy of Vogue. Take morning coffee and afternoon tea under the veranda at the smart soft seating area, meet for cocktails as the sun sets, and admire the view. Eat alfresco at the dining table and chairs, with dishes prepared in the outside summer kitchen complete with baby barbeque, then raise a glass to the most relaxing holiday.

Villa Sunkiss can be found in a luxury eco-friendly complex, set in nature with beach and sea views, on the north coast of the beautiful island of Kos, in the heart of the Aegean Sea. The villa is a seventeen kilometres drive from the international airport and just twenty minutes to the capital town of Kos. The island of  Kos is the third largest of the Dodecanese, with a one hundred and twelve-kilometre-long coastline, populated with family-friendly beaches, and crystal clear waters. Villa Sunkiss is within walking distance of the fashionable tourist resort of Tigaki, where you will find sandy beaches, beach clubs, water sports, bars, cafes, and restaurants, as well as shops stocked with all the provisions you will need for your holiday.

Kos is known as the bicycle island, with more than ten miles of cycling lanes, enjoy a scenic sightseeing tour on two wheels. For those who like a bit of activity, you’ll be spoilt for choice with hiking the many walking trails, swimming and snorkelling azure blue waters, kite and windsurfing, paragliding and scuba diving, and horse riding and mountain biking. A trip to Kos town, the capital of the island is a must. Situated on the northeast tip of the island, it’s an eleven-kilometre drive away. Here you will find a mix of the ancient, medieval, and modern, as you wander through historic streets you will see the Castle of the Knights of St John, Greek gymnasiums, original agoras, and Ottoman mosques. Neratzia Castle is an imposing fortification over Kos town, whilst the Roman Odeon is just outside. Visit a restored replica of a fifth-century BC house in the Hippocrates Garden, and sit under the plane tree, where the father of modern medicine reputedly swore the Hippocratic oath.

Make your way to Eleftherias Square, the town’s meeting place in the centre of Kos, where you will find the Archeological Museum, stuffed with artefacts from the island’s history. Or enjoy the simple pleasures of some homemade meze and a glass of retsina, as you watch the world go by. For somewhere more traditionally Greek, visit some of the lesser-known villages, go south to Kefalos, and wend your way around the labyrinthine alleyways to the Folklore Museum, swim in the azure sea, then dine on freshly caught seafood at the old port. Take to the mountains to see the village of Zia, a tiny village on Mount Dikaios, and walk the cobbled lanes with its blue and white houses, and shops for souvenirs of handmade artefacts. Not far from the villa is the Alikes Wetland Reserve, where fresh and saltwater meet to form a lagoon, which attracts migrating flamingos and pelicans. Take a tour and visit one of the many vineyards, where you can sample the wine, and take a bottle or two home with you.

If you are feeling adventurous, island hop from Kos to the adjacent Dodecanese destinations of Kalimonos and Pserimos. Go even further afield and board the ferry across the Aegean to the ancient town of Bodrum in southwest Turkey. In the evening if it's nightlife you’re after, go into Tigaki for some cracking karaoke, and Greek-themed dining, and dance yourself dizzy to some rocking DJs. Or go into Kos town for some serious all-night clubbing and beach parties.
