Located in the holiday resort of Aghios Nikolaos, in Northern Crete, in the heart of the Aegean Sea, near to stunning sandy beaches, with magnificent views of Mirabello Bay, Villa Cassiopeia has everything you wish for in a dream holiday.

The detached Villa Cassiopeia has three ensuite bedrooms, is built over two storeys, and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, ideal for a family holiday or friend’s get-together. The villa has its own dedicated parking place and complimentary Wi-Fi and heating or cooling air conditioning throughout. This award-winning villa complex has been designed with meticulous attention to detail; the property has been interior decorated with stylish fixtures and fittings using a neutral palette of subtle calming shades, with splashes of Cretan colour highlights.

Enter the villa at ground floor level, where you will find a world of open-plan living. The seating area has a plush sofa and two contrasting well, upholstered armchairs, with wooden coffee and side tables arranged around an open fire for the cooler months and evenings. The adjacent dining area has a very smart wooden dining table and six upholstered chairs facing a decorative mirror, the perfect place for some impressive indoor entertaining. The blonde wood and soft grey stainless steel kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to cater for your holiday, including a four-ring hob with cooker hood, a family-sized fridge freezer, a dishwasher and washing machine, and that must-have morning coffee maker. For those who don’t fancy making their own breakfast, there is the option of having yours prepared in the villa by the on-site team; now, that really is a treat.

Take the stairs to the first floor, where there are three spacious double bedrooms dressed in cool crisp whites with soft greys and beiges. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, side tables, a chest of drawers and wardrobes, and an ensuite marble bathroom. The floor-to-ceiling windows floods the room with natural light and opens onto a fully furnished sea view balcony, where you can enjoy watching the sunrise and plan your day. The other two bedrooms are both twin rooms, each with two single beds, side tables, chest of drawers and wardrobes, both have their own ensuite shower rooms, and charming sea view balconies.

Access the sea view terrace via the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors of the living area; here there is your own private ladder-entry rectangular swimming pool with a refreshing waterfall shower. The pool is surrounded by stylish cream cushioned sun loungers and shady parasols, whilst the terrace is dotted with director’s chairs and tables, where you can sit and chat, enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunset over the Aegean Sea. Sample the delicious local delicacies as you eat alfresco at the outdoor dining table and chairs set up just for you under the twinkling twilight stars.

The villa is ideally located northeast side of the beautiful island of Crete, betwixt and between Heraklion international airport, just sixty kilometres away, and the domestic and charter destination Sitei, sixty-five kilometres distance. You will find Villa Cassiopeia in the coastal town of Agios Nikolaos, named after Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors. The villa is set within a small exclusive nine-property luxury complex, and comes with membership of the Domes of Elounda, which includes access to private beaches, a kid’s club, and use of the creche. Keep fit on holiday with complimentary use of the on-site gym, sauna and steam room.

The villa is within walking distance of the nearest sandy beach and the welcoming water of the Aegean Sea. The complex concierge can arrange private excursions, including chartering a luxury yacht to sail the local seas, car hire for you to explore the island at your leisure, or even a bike when you can take to two wheels and get some exercise whilst discovering the local flora and fauna. Don’t miss the local Cretan Olive Oil Farm, sample the delights of the local harvest and take a bottle of the golden nectar home with you. Crete is populated with historic sites, for the archaeologists, nearby is Gournia, or for the more spiritually inclined, Faneromeni Monastery is well worth a visit. Drive to the Dikte Mountains to discover a bit of Byzantine culture, most especially the Church of Panagiakera and its beautiful thirteenth-century frescoes.

Take a trip into town and wander the ancient streets of Agios Nikolaos, where you will find inviting shops selling local crafts, take sanctuary in its twenty-eight churches, and find peace and quiet in seven monasteries. Discover Cretan culture in the Folk Art Museum, full of textiles, pottery, furniture and religious iconography. Have fun admiring contemporary street art as you climb the Spirit of the Stairs. In the heart of the town lies Lake Voulismeni, once believed to be bottomless; it is actually sixty-four metres deep at the centre and home to the statues of Athena and Artemis. Further afield, you can explore the Cave of Zeus, where the king of the Greek gods was hidden by his mother Rhea and nourished by the goat Almathea.

For lovers of luxury, head out to the town of Elounda, stroll down streets selling exclusive designer brands, and stop in cosy tavernas where you can star-spot over coffee. From Elounda take the ferry to the island of Spinalonga, once a former leper colony until as recently as 1957, now turned into an open-air museum, with its ancient fortifications, a sixteenth century Venetian fortress, it was made famous in the book The Island by Victoria Hislop, and is now used for many a film set.

For those of you who want to adventure further afield join a guided tour to see the Richtis Waterfall, the sunken city of Olous, the Palace of Knossos, and the city of Heraklion where you can learn all about Minoan history and culture. Whatever you do with a stay at Villa Casseopeia, there is something to suit all tastes and activities for all the family.
