Close to the artistic town of Vence, it’s a privilege to be able to add this stunning French Riviera villa to our portfolio, a modern 5-bedroom abode with a heated swimming pool and far-reaching vistas of the glistening Mediterranean.

There are glorious views from every angle thanks to the cleverly designed terraces across Villa Mercure, set on the hillside just 4km from the heart of historic Vence. Every feature has been thoughtfully designed across this contemporary holiday home from sleek furnishings and hand-crafted detail to impressive artwork and floor-to-ceiling windows that capture the vistas of the Côte d'Azur and its hinterland.

Sit back on the lounge’s sumptuous sofas before opening the sliding windows to the heated swimming pool. Prepare feasts in state-of-the-art luxury kitchen to be served in the outdoor dining area which is atmospherically lit up in the evening. At the end of the day, retire to one of the five elegant bedrooms whilst there are three bath/shower rooms (one en suite) – look out for artisan tiling and deep ceramic tubs. Other high-end amenities include air-conditioning throughout, a Smart TV and a fitness room available for guests to use.

How wonderful to be so close to Vence and Matisse’s iconic Chapelle du Rosaire, just a short drive away. Vence is an artistic town full of charm with its medieval lanes, pretty squares, galleries, chapels and fantastic viewpoints. Head to the market on a Tuesday morning and come across many excellent restaurants for gastronomic dining.  

Picture-perfect St Paul de Vence is just a little further, as is the highly regarded Fondation Maeght with its Joan Miró sculpture garden. Other historic towns and hilltop villages include Grasse, Valbonne, Biot and flower-filled Mougins. Venture down to the coast and soak up the sun as you walk along the promenade in nearby Cagnes-sur-Mer or dine out in a beachside restaurant in Juan-les-Pins.

Keen hikers have access to some superb walks close to the villa including a trail leading to a nearby waterfall and you are well located for the incredible scenery of the Baous de Vence. Find coastal hikes across Cap d’Antibes, enjoy watersports and boat trips, discover some of the French Riviera’s best golf courses whilst Cannes, Antibes, Monaco and Nice are all waiting to be explored in this alluring region of southern France.

Villa Mercure is located just outside the historic and artistic village of Vence in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France, only 18km from Nice Airport. There are spectacular views from the many terraces towards the Côte d'Azur hinterland as far as the glistening Mediterranean.

The hillside town of Vence (4km) is a joy to explore as you stroll around its charming lanes appreciating its rich heritage and charm. Come across delightful shops, art galleries, medieval chapels and pretty squares, always admiring the viewpoints. Experience the market at Place Clemenceau on a Tuesday morning and dine out in gastronomic restaurants.

Art lovers note that just outside the town is Matisse’s famous Chapelle du Rosaire. This area is also a paradise for keen walkers – the nearest hike starts at the waterfall just a short distance from the villa and you are well located for the Baous de Vence trails as well as many spectacular routes through the hills and by the coast near Cap d’Antibes.
St Paul de Vence (9km) is another picture-perfect village close by, home to the highly regarded Fondation Maeght art exhibition centre with its Joan Miró sculpture garden. In the historic village itself, follow the footsteps of great artists and writers as you pass or even dine at La Colombe D’Or hotel-restaurant.

Visit Cagnes-sur-Mer’s (12km) Musée Renoir in its old quarter and the popular Polygone Riviera shopping centre in its outskirts. Heading to the coast, take a long walk along Cagnes-sur-Mer’s beachside promenade which leads to the Hippodrome de la Côte d'Azur, a must for horse-racing enthusiasts.

Of course, the allure of Nice (25km), Cannes (34km) and Monaco (47km) also await, as does the charm of Antibes (23km) and the glorious beaches of Juan-Les-Pins (25km). Meanwhile, find time to visit other idyllic villages and towns of the hinterland including the market town of Valbonne (25km), the perfume studios of Grasse (25km) and the flower-filled lanes, art galleries and high-end restaurants of Mougins (32km).
