Just a 5-minute drive away (or a brisk 45-minute walk for the most energetic) lies the breathtaking medieval village of Saint-Émilion (3.6km), a unesco World Heritage site and a true jewel of south-west France. Meander through cobbled streets lined with wine cellars, little shops and upmarket restaurants, or explore the remarkable underground monolithic church and ancient catacombs carved into limestone.
