Maison des Reves is a lovely holiday home in western Burgundy, combining a traditional style with modern interiors and décor creating a seamless atmosphere. It can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests, making it perfect for a big family or a group of friends’ getaway.

The house has a bright and airy feel with a spacious living area opening up onto the glorious gardens plus an open-plan kitchen-diner just alongside the working fire-place. There’s a covered al-fresco terrace with a barbecue to cook a meal and have some drinks while keeping an eye on the kids playing in the glorious pool or in the spacious gardens. Kids will also love the ping-pong table and play area which includes space to kick a football around and a trampoline, making it a very family friendly holiday home.

Located in a rural area of western Burgundy, its mesmerizing scenery incites exploration of the area. There is a wide range of activities to do within a short drive such as hiking and cycling through breathtaking trails, playing tennis and going horse-back riding. Just a little further you will have the opportunity to try waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking and mountain biking.

It’s just a ten minutes drive to Saint-Fargeau, a very picturesque town worthy of visit due to its remarkable castle as well as restaurants and shops. There are other beautiful towns nearby such as Auxerre, with a noteworthy cathedral and charming medieval streets and some wonderful and traditional market towns for a day trips such as Toucy, Gien and Briare.

Finally, let’s not forget the lovely vineyards of Burgundy, wandering through them and taking part in some wine-tasting is an experience you will never forget. Try the white variety in nearby Sancerre or head a little further beyond Auxerre to wonderful Chablis to sample more fine wines from this remarkable region.

This maison offers the best rural location surrounded by a fantastic amount of activities nearby or if you prefer to relax, staying in your beautiful home and gardens is always a good alternative. 

The stunning scenery surrounding Maison des Reves inspires exploration of the Burgundy region. Whilst it is a quiet and rural area, there are lots of activities all the way from wine tasting to horseback riding, canoeing and waterskiing on the lakes close by; there will definitely be something to interest guests of all ages. Nature Adventures (16km) is a great place that offers loads of tree-top activities including paintball if you and your family are up for the challenge.

The house is located a short drive from the charming town of Saint-Fargeau with shops, restaurants and a noteworthy castle. Keep your eyes on the lookout as your visit might coincide with one of their re-enactments. There are also two local attractions, Ferme du Chateau (8km) and Parc Naturel de Boutissaint (16km), where the kids can see many animals in their natural surroundings. Furthermore, the Chateau de Guedelon is worth a visit as you will get to see first hand how they build a 13th century castle utilising traditional materials and methods.

Auxerre (52km), a protected historic town in France right on the river, is a good place to go on a day trip and explore its beauties such as its magnificent cathedral and coffee shops or simply walk through the medieval streets and appreciate the ancient houses. Other towns which are worth a visit are Gien (40km) and Briare (25km), both very quaint market towns. Briare, on the Loire River, also crosses with Canal de Briare making it ideal for boat trips and riverside strolls.

A day trip to Joan of Arc’s house in Orléans (115 km) is idyllic for any history lovers out there as is a trip to the wonderful Vézelay (75km), on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela with its 12th century Basilica and beautifully preserved streets full of colourful flowers in the summer months.
