Accommodation

The ‘Haussman’ design gives the château an unusual style for the area. The façade is richly decorated with mouldings and sculptures, and the central round tower that serves as a winter garden, adds a romantic touch. All the original features have been conserved in the living room, dining room and bedrooms. From the balcony on the tower you can take in the superb view across the village and the surrounding vineyards.
The Chateau has 8 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. There are 5 doubles & 3 twins (the twins can be converted in to doubles if needed). The beds are made up for your arrival. Two cots are also available. Two of the bedrooms are 'VIP bedrooms' with views out across the park and the vineyards, one of them also has a 10m2 balcony. Both have HD television with TNT channels, Blu-ray DVD player, bath with massage jets, double washbasin and hairdryer. The 8 bathrooms have been stylishly fitted with your comfort in mind. Each has a WC, a washbasin and either a shower or bath. Towels and toiletries are provided on arrival.
The living room has an open fireplace that dates back to the 19th Century. Logs are provided enabling you to make the most of evenings around the fire with family or friends. You will also appreciate the 19th Century fresque that covers all four walls of the room. The room is extremely light and airy, with large windows opening out onto the park. The moulded ceilings, the wood panelling and the oak floor are all original and create a wonderful atmosphere. The central tower is arranged as a winter garden and being next to the living room it serves as a doorway out to the garden and pool. This is also the smokers area as smoking is prohibited in the rest of the chateau.
Books and DVDs in the library are at your disposal during your stay. An English style pool table, a big screen HD television with Satellite channels, a blu-ray DVD player and a Playstation 3 will ensure evenings full of entertainment. Wireless internet connection is available free of charge. The dining room table can seat up to 15 people and has large windows to let the light show off the beautiful moulded ceiling, the original wood paneling and the old oak floor. The glasses, crockery and cutlery are at your disposal in the sideboard.
The Château galley kitchen is fully equipped including an oven, a microwave, a 5 ring hob with extractor fan, a dishwasher, a large refrigerator, a freezer, an electric coffee maker, a toaster and an electric kettle. A full range of kitchen equipment, utensils and accessories is provided. An assortment of herbs, spices and condiments are also at your disposal. 2 high chairs are available.
A gym is available in the basement of the Château. It is equipped with two exercise bikes, a rowing machine, a weights machine, dumbbells and mats. Relax afterwards in the armchairs, have a drink or enjoy a game of table football. The wall mounted TV screen with DVD player will make your workout more enjoyable! Adjacent is a spacious shower with massage jets and a sauna.
Outside the 5x10m heated swimming pool is open from April to October. The shallow end is a metre deep and goes down to around 1.9m. Spend hot afternoons lazing around the pool on one of the sunloungers with the summer house and garden table nearby for lunch by the pool or dinner on a balmy summer evening. Four bicycles and two child seats are provided at no extra charge. 16 ‘pétanque’ boules can be found at the château in case you fancy a boules contest between friends. There is also a table tennis table. There is a traditional barbecue just next to the summer house by the pool.

We had a very enjoyable holiday in your beautiful chateau, it was absolutely perfect for the family and there was plenty to keep everyone amused, young and old! I think also we have discovered a new area of France that we will no doubt come back to, the drive was a little longer than we would normally do (in one day) but well worth it! Thanks again and we hope to stay in one of your beautiful homes again in the future!

When renting a vacation house from across the ocean, sometimes you get exactly what you expect and sometimes you are surprised. In the case of Chateau de Naugues we were overwhelmed by the entire experience. We were 11 people, all one family, with ages from 13-72 on our annual summer vacation. Upon driving up to the Chateau we were in awe. The pictures did not do it justice. We were greeted by Pascal, the “curator”. I chose that title because he seemed to take great pride in showing us the amenities and fixtures of the estate both inside and out. He took all the time we needed and had to take breaks now and then as we just looked on in wonder at all the sights to behold. The house has been fitted with all of the latest conveniences but at the same time exuded the charm you would expect from such a stately manor. The bathrooms had 5 star finishes and each one was better than the next. From jetted tubs to raised bowl sinks they were expertly designed to meet everyone’s needs. The kitchen was fit for a chef and had everything you could imagine needing though cooking was not what we were looking forward to. The beds were crisp and clean with pillows and mattresses both kids and adults wanted to take home. You can read about all of the amenities online but know this: EVERYTHING was thought of in this Chateau. Extra electrical outlets near the beds, 5 different coffee appliances, pool toys, yard toys, enough dishes for a wedding reception, spices galore and the activities list should be explored and utilized as all of the vendors we utilized were top notch. Kung “There is only One Kung” made our mornings a ritual of perfection. Breads fresh, coffee prepared, kitchen cleaned and table cleared. She does laundry! Use her and book early! Chef Thomas prepared a feast for the ages with wines procured by Christophe. We enjoyed every last morsel and his dessert was amazing! Air Escargot was a highlight for most of us. We rose over the roof of our chateau and watched the sun rise over the hills without a worry in the world. All of those things paled against the private wine experience at Christophe’s chateau just a short drive away. He invited us as a thank you but also offered an upgrade to explore his cellar and taste even more wines. We chose the upgrade and were not disappointed. Don’t spend the rest of your life wondering what you might have missed. Choose this chateau, book early and prepare to be amazed. It’s good to be the King . . . even if only for a week.

Our stay at your Chateau de Nangues so much exceeded our expectations that I don't know where to begin. The serenity of the chateau and area was so obvious the minute we arrived. Every part of your magnificent chateau was so accomodating, meeting every one of our needs. We especially enjoyed the balcony overlooking the vineyards and the village homes... Every morning we would so happily walk to the quaint village of Mercurey for our pastries and baguettes...The children LOVED the trampoline and the pool... Their parents so enjoyed their visits to the local wineries, especially their visit with you!.. I could go on and on....This was the best family vacation we have ever taken. One week was not enough. We chuckled at your apology for the cool weather - we were so happy to not have to deal with usual August heat!
