Perched on the sunlit slopes of Le Crêt, a charming hamlet in Val d’Isère framed by dramatic alpine peaks, Chalet Barbara is a stylish mountain retreat just a short walk from the centre of town and close to La Daille. Formerly a traditional farmhouse, it has been transformed into an elegant chalet sleeping up to ten guests in comfort and style.

Blending Savoyard character with modern sophistication, Chalet Barbara features solid oak floors, warm stone fireplaces, and refined soft furnishings throughout. The heart of the property is its open-plan living space, where oversized sofas and designer armchairs surround a crackling fire, offering an ideal spot for après-ski drinks or relaxed afternoons. Glass doors open onto a spacious terrace, while the adjacent kitchen comes fully equipped with a range cooker, high-end appliances, and a Nespresso machine.

Downstairs, the master suite offers a romantic retreat with a king-size bed, a private fireplace, a walk-in wardrobe, and a striking ensuite with a freestanding bath and draped four-poster detail. Also on this level is a cinema room, decorated in rich tones and furnished with a plush corner sofa, which can convert into an additional sleeping space for two guests. Just outside, the outdoor hot tub invites guests to soak tired limbs while taking in panoramic views across the valley.

Three further bedrooms are located upstairs, including one with a double bed and two with twin beds, each beautifully styled with high-quality linens and thoughtful touches. All bedrooms feature private ensuite bathrooms with either walk-in showers or deep tubs.

The chalet also includes a ski and boot room, and parking for two vehicles including a private garage. The heart of Val d’Isère, with its historic charm, boutiques, lively bars, and access to the Solaise and Bellevarde lifts, is just fifteen minutes away on foot. With access to the vast Espace Killy ski area, this is a superb base for exploring one of Europe’s finest alpine regions.

Val d’Isère is a picturesque Savoyard resort set on the edge of the Vanoise National Park, surrounded by spectacular Alpine scenery. The historic centre is full of charm, with its 17th-century church, boutique shops, inviting bars, and excellent restaurants. Beyond the bustling high street, smaller hamlets such as Le Crêt and Le Joseray offer a more peaceful setting.

Linked with Tignes to form the vast Espace Killy, Val d’Isère provides access to over 300 kilometres of pistes and 99 lifts, alongside glacier skiing on the Grande Motte. Its high-altitude setting between 1850 metres and 3400 metres guarantees outstanding snow conditions, with the season often running until early May. From challenging black runs like the Face de Bellevarde to beginner-friendly slopes and family areas such as Valkids and Valpark, the resort caters to every level of skier.

Guests benefit from a private shuttle service providing morning and afternoon transport to and from the slopes, operating daily in the mornings between 8:30am and 10:00am, and again in the afternoons between 4:00pm and 6:00pm offering convenient and flexible access to the pistes.

Val d’Isère is also renowned for its vibrant après-ski scene, with La Folie Douce a notable highlight. For non-skiers, the resort offers a range of activities including luxurious spas, a modern leisure centre, and lift access for mountain lunches and stunning panoramic views. During the summer months, the area transforms into a paradise for hikers and cyclists, with direct trails into the breathtaking Vanoise National Park.
