Three-bedroom Villa Tee is in a beautiful area of Paphos on Cyprus’s southwest coast. Part of a complex, you get all the benefits of a private villa – your own swimming pool, terrace and fully-equipped kitchen – as well as access to the resort’s top-notch facilities. Think serene spa, tennis courts and a restaurant. The golf complex is set in the hills and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Surrounded by 234 hectares of land with a mountainous backdrop, it’s a truly tranquil setting.
It’s not only the surrounds that make Villa Tee magical. When you arrive at the bungalow, you’re greeted by a grand entrance – a lavish living room elegantly furnished with comfortable sofas and a feature fireplace. There’s also a modern fully-equipped kitchen with sleek white units and amenities including an electric oven, microwave and dishwasher. On this floor is also the family bathroom with a large bathtub and two of the stylish bedrooms, which are both doubles. Then, climb the marble staircase to the master bedroom with a king-size bed and a large en-suite bathroom.
Perhaps the main stand-out feature though is the infinity pool, where you can soak up the idyllic vistas. There’s a barbeque area with a sink too – perfect for preparing al-fresco meals – and a shaded outdoor dining area for enjoying it on. Cushioned armchairs and several loungers also adorn the outdoor space. The ‘luxe’ finishing touch is an outside sauna room with glass windows where you can take a break while still being able to enjoy the magnificent views this villa has to offer.
For when you can bring yourself to leave this stunning spot (we’ll forgive you if you don’t), Paphos town centre with its golden sandy swimming beaches, traditional tavernas and historic archaeological sites await. While away the afternoon on the shore, do as the locals do and sip on a cooling iced coffee or wander the cobbled streets in the old town with boutique shops.
Villa Tee is short 20-minute drive from the centre of Paphos. The popular holiday town is renowned for its beautiful sandy beaches, impressive historic architecture and family-friendly tavernas. Head to the boat-lined harbour where restaurants line the waterfront (look out for fresh seafood!) and explore Paphos Castle, an ancient Byzantine fort and favourite spot for evening entertainment like live music. From there, you can follow the coastal road round for a scenic walk along the shore.
Paphos also has plenty of supermarkets, bakeries and shops to pick up local produce. Coral Bay is a lively strip with more international and local restaurants and you’ll find Paphos’s main beach there. The long sandy strip is dotted with loungers and there’s a small café built into the hillside. Quieter Geroskipou beach has a man-made barrier that you can swim to, and it’s also just down the road. You’ll find of opportunities to take part in water sports in the area like sea kayaking and jet skiing.
For scuba divers, top dive sites include Coral Bay harbour, St. Georges island and St. Georges harbour. At the latter, there’s also a small sandy beach you can relax on, caves for you to traverse and a restaurant overlooking the fishing-boat dotted water. From there, you could also visit the Sea Caves in Peyia. Enjoy a walk along the cliffs, swim and snorkel or sunbathe on the rocks. At night, sip cocktails at the restaurant there and enjoy views of Edro III, an 83-metre-long cargo shipwreck.
For a dose of culture, unesco World Heritage Site Tombs of the Kings is a must see. You’ll find well-preserved underground tombs and chambers used during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Ibrahim Kahn in Paphos Old Town is also a must visit. Browse the hand-crafted mosaics, jewellery and artwork. There’s are a small taverna there, serving traditional food like souvlaki and mezes.
