About this property

Situated in the Gornje Sitno area to the east of Split, the delightful Villa Gornje delivers excellent facilities in a great location. Ideal for up to eight guests, this 3-bedroom villa comes with a sauna, hot tub and a tempting outdoor pool.

This villa offers privacy in its outdoor areas which enjoy wonderful views out towards the sea, around 13km away. The main terrace features an impressive 36 sq m pool, heated and with step access and hydromassage feature. There is a seating area and sun loungers in this area too. A separate roof terrace hosts the spacious hot tub and has yet more space to chill out. Close to the pool area, you also have a covered dining terrace with a built-in barbecue.

Inside, another stylish dining area enjoys views of the pool thanks to a glass wall. An adjacent kitchen offers a coffee machine, dishwasher and all the appliances you could need, while the living area occupies a separate space and features large, comfy sofas and a flatscreen TV and PS4. You can also get some exercise in, as there’s a treadmill too.

One king-size bedroom with en suite can be found on the lower level, with an exit to the outdoor dining area. Upstairs, you have two more bedrooms, also with king-size beds and en suite bathrooms with showers. The Finnish sauna cabin is also situated on this level. If you need more sleeping space, the sofa in the living room downstairs is convertible.

Air-conditioned and with Wi-Fi and onsite parking, Villa Gornje offers true relaxation close to the Croatian coast. It’s an easy drive into Split, which as the country’s second city is full of incredible historic attractions and things to see and do. Many other pleasing destinations are accessible from the Split area, such as water-sports hub Omiš, pretty coastal town Podstrana and the impressive city of Šibenik. Also be sure to visit the magnificent Krka National Park or go offshore and to the wonderful islands of Brač and Šolta.

The city of Split is vibrant and busy, combining historic sights with an irresistible waterfront that’s full of life. You could easily spend a few days in Split and only scratch the surface, so it’s well worth planning your time there in advance.

The biggest attraction in town is the huge Diocletian’s Palace, overlooking the harbour. This Roman palace is so large, it actually contains many of the city’s other well-known sights within its boundaries. Among those you may want to check out are the 13th-century Cathedral of St Domnius with its 57m bell tower, which you can climb to get the best possible view of the region. Also within the palace walls are Peristyle Square, a meeting place and cultural venue which often hosts events, and the nearby Jupiter Temple.

Other notable squares in town include the People’s Square with its café terraces, and the grand Republic Square which faces the sea. The glamorous Riva promenade is one of the city’s highlights and will help you get your bearings, along with the four gates to Diocletian’s Palace – named after bronze, iron, silver and gold.

Split hosts regular festivals that bring music and entertainment to the streets, while its year-round cultural offerings include the Croatian National Theatre, Split Gallery of Fine Arts and the Meštrović Gallery – a homage to Croatia’s great 20th-century sculptor. The green spaces of the large Marjan Forest Park to the west of the city are perfect for taking a relaxing break, and the region’s largest aquarium is ideal to keep children entertained and out of the sun for a while. You could also take a boat trip out to the islands of Brač and Šolta, or the magnificent Blue Cave.

Outside of Split itself, there are many other destinations worthy of your time. On the River Cetina, popular Omiš is around 25 minutes from Gornja Sitno and offers an array of sporting activities based on or over the river. You can go rafting, canyoning, canoeing or cross the water on a zip-line.

Backed by the Dinara mountains, Omiš has lots of restaurants and café terraces, as well as plenty of pirate-themed attractions – a nod to its past. If you fancy a taxing climb, you could also make the ascent to one of the town’s fortresses, which offer rewarding views.

Another place to admire Croatia’s natural beauty is the vast Krka National Park. About one hour from Split, it’s well worth making the journey, with stunning waterfalls, riverboat tours and much more waiting for you.

Villa Gornje is a beautiful, well furnished and modern place set in stunning scenery. Having the use of the pool, hot tub and sauna makes this the perfect place to relax. You are short drive away from the centre of split which you can find lovely restaurants. The owner of the villa is amazing, very helpful and informative of the area, very quick to respond regarding queries and she couldn’t have done enough for us. Had and amazing time and would 100% recommend!

We had a wonderful stay and can heartily recommend this house. The Villa Gornje is in excellent condition and extremely clean. From the terrace you have a great view over the mountains. There is a small mini-market in the village for small purchases, for larger purchases you have to drive a little further. Anika & her family are great hosts and accompanied our stay with loving gestures. We especially enjoyed an evening in Lydia's restaurant recommended by Ankica. The food and location were excellent (at reasonable prices) and Lydia was a great hostess! Thank you for a great holiday!
