About this property

Villa Aqua Zelena is an incredible, contemporary 5 bedroom property built masterfully into the rocks overlooking the sea at Sveta Nedelja, 12km east of Hvar Town. Its enviable, exclusive location is superb, offering spectacular vistas, complete seclusion and privacy. Yet, it is close to a charming, picturesque village with a lovely shoreline, a restaurant and a grocery store. You really get the best of both worlds at Villa Aqua Zelena, tranquillity and relaxation, plus you are just minutes away from the buzzy, celebrity hotspot of Hvar Town.

Sveta Nedelja lies on the sheer cliff at the foot of the island's highest peak, St Nicholas. With its impressive mountain backdrop and stunning beaches below, Villa Aqua Zelena offers the most amazing vistas. Gorgeous islands look like they are floating in the azure waters opposite the village. You can take a boat out to explore them. The village is famous for its red wine, Plavac. You can walk right from the villa to the beach, a restaurant and a small grocery store. On the south coast of Hvar, this is certainly the place for the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets. The village is wonderful for those that love the outdoors and exercise. You can relax on the beach or take a strenuous hike in the mountains.

Villa Aqua Zelena has been recently built with a passion for style and incredible attention to detail. It is stylish, sleek and beautifully finished. Its enormous terrace feels as though it is floating over the landscape, with its glorious infinity pool’s drop-away edge seeming to be over the glistening turquoise sea. You will certainly be relaxing in style on this deck! Deluxe loungers surround the pool with tables for your cocktails and sun lotion. If you want some shade, there is a beautiful covered alfresco lounge area, perfect for pre-dinner drinks or perhaps a game of cards. The sunrises and sunsets from this magical spot are truly magnificent. Guests also enjoy a stunning covered alfresco dining area where you can enjoy the panoramic scenes while enjoying delicious fresh local fish cooked on the barbecue.

The interior of the villa is dreamy with contemporary open plan living. The kitchen is smart, modern and brilliantly well equipped. You can dine with a view with a whole wall of doors opening to the terrace. The lounge area is another striking space with cool grey furnishings and another set of doors opening to the terrace.

A trendy staircase leads upstairs. There are five bedrooms in total, all with stunning ensuite bathrooms. It is a world of luxury and elegance in this gem of a villa; certainly a 5 star getaway with almost every space offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Guests will enjoy the sleep of kings on the sumptuous beds, and all are adorned with luxury linens. The villa’s ultra-modern architecture and furnishings are there to please and pamper guests. You will find it hard to leave this beautiful, tranquil retreat, but the delights of this pretty, historic village the whole of Hvar await! The sea is just 200m away!

The village of Sveta Nedelja is located just below a cave inhabited by Neolithic tribes in the ancient past and later became the home to an Augustinian monastery in the 15th century. This is a village with history as well as beauty. It is a wine lover’s paradise with delicious wine tastings and tours, the best wines on the island. You should order prosciutto, cheese and other local delicacies when tasting the wines. Only remains of the ancient monastery can be found just below the peak of St Nicholas. The chapel still stands, and it is worth the 40 minutes climb up to see it and enjoy the views. The area has become a free climbing destination with its sheer rocky cliffs and stunning vistas. A small lavender and rosemary oil distillery creates the most divine scented oils that you can also visit. The new part of Sveta Nedelja is right next to a delightful sandy beach called Login Beach. It is a popular spot for sunbathers and swimmers. You can enjoy freshly caught fish at the restaurants next to the beach. Nearby is the lovely Lucisce Beach, another sandy gem.

Visitors to Sveta Nedelja can enjoy hiking, trekking, mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, cycling, surfing and windsurfing. It is great for those that love the outdoors.

Jelsa is another popular spot, the main tourist centre on the north shore of Hvar. It boasts a fragrant dense pine forest, wonderful sandy beaches, numerous vineyards, historic cultural landmarks, adventure parks and a good range of shops and gourmet restaurants. Vitarnja Beach is a delightful, beautiful cove near Jelsa. It is a great place for families with thrilling treats.

North of the villa is Stari Grad, founded in 384BC by the ancient Greeks named Pharos. Throughout the town, you will find remains of its glorious past. Stari Grad is very beautiful with a maze of picturesque narrow streets, the magical sounds of folk singers, galleries, charming courtyards, excellent shops and traditional taverns. The town sits proudly at the end of a deep inlet. The waterfront promenade continues along the northern bank to a small beach. The surrounding fields are still divided into parcels of land. The Stari Grad Plain is wonderful for hiking, cycling, enjoying the lavender fields and visiting ancient little villages.

On the south coast, Zavala boasts a few restaurants and shops surrounded by beautiful nature. Its rustic Dalmation stone houses fill the narrow cobbled streets, plus you have a wonderful view of the islands of Scedro and Korcula as well as the Peljesac Peninsula. The slopes of the village are adorned with neat rows of vineyards and scented blooming oleander flowers. The village is famous for its delicious white wine, bogdanjusa, which you can drink in one of the restaurants along with some superb local dishes. Below the village are beautiful beaches, including Petrascica with its fascinating cave and a small harbour. Zavala is a wonderful spot for those wanting to escape the crowds and relax, surrounded by the hypnotic scents of rosemary and lavender, beautiful olive trees and wonderful vineyards.

Another popular excursion is to take a water taxi from Hvar Town to the sensational Pakleni Islands. Visitors flock to Hvar Town in the summer, visiting the beaches by day and partying into the night. The harbour is incredibly picturesque. The town enjoys many historic buildings, including its wonderful medieval castle, its 15th-century monastery and its baroque cathedral. There are some lovely unique shops where you can buy souvenirs. At night, it is definitely the celebrity hotspot it has become famous for.
