About this property

Space is the word at Villa Kape! It is enormous and perfect for a large family or friends group of up to 14 guests. This massive, extremely comfortable, traditional villa is situated in a quiet, sunny position just 1km from a beach in the countryside at Rakalj on the western coast of Rasa Bay. With a 4000sqm plot, you can understand that this is a very private, secluded villa offering amazing views and a wonderful, serene ambience.

Rakalj is a peaceful small town 12km northeast of Marcane and 30km from the buzzy Pula. It is known for its traditional Istrian pottery and skilled sailors and fishermen. It is charming and very attractive with cultural and historical sights. The whole of the Istrian peninsula is a delight with its amazing coastline, incredible countryside and delicious cuisine and wine.

Villa Kape’s garden is amazing. It is on various levels, so very interesting and alluring. You can always find a quiet spot if you want some peace to read a book or just enjoy the brilliant surroundings. The 50sqm pool is surrounded by comfy sun loungers and parasols if you want some shade. There is also a covered lounge area close to the pool. Surrounding the pool terrace are fabulous lawns and wonderful, lush planting. There are several covered terraces with games tables and gym equipment and an open barn housing a wonderful alfresco dining suite, complete with built-in barbecue and outdoor kitchen. It is very atmospheric with lovely garden views. There is also a children’s playground.

The villa itself is so open and light. The living and dining room is incredibly spacious at 40 sqm and opens to the sunny terrace. It has a double sofa bed if you have extra guests as well as an attractive open-hearth fireplace. The warm and inviting country kitchen also has a dining table for informal meals. There are two twin bedrooms on the ground floor with well-maintained tiled shower rooms and a separate entrance. The views of the garden are lovely.

Due to the different levels in the garden, the upper floor also opens to another area of the garden and to the swimming pool. There is another large 45 sqm living area, a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with a whirlpool and access to the terrace, another ensuite double from with terrace access, two doubles with terrace access, and another double with a hamman shower with hydro massage. In total there are seven bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Villa Kape is such a comfortable villa with so much accommodation for a large group. With two living spaces, it would work well if you have children wanting a little space of their own to play in at the end of the day. Having said that, the garden is so enormous; they will probably spend most of their time outside!Villa Kape is in a wonderful countryside position, just 500m from a restaurant and 1km from two beaches. It will not take long to reach busier resorts and other fabulous beaches. Rasa Bay is idyllic and peaceful. You will feel away from it all. On the other side of the bay is the charming fishing village of Trget. It is worth stopping by on the way to the wonderful hilltop town of Labin and the pretty coastal town of Rabac. Labin’s rambling cobbled streets and quaintly restored pastel houses are so pretty and the fine, seafood restaurants are fabulous. You will hear jazz and classical music in Labin. Rabac is a lovely resort with a fabulous, white pebble beach and a pretty harbour. You can sail over to Cres Island from Rabac.

The Augustus temple, triumphal arch of the Sergijans, the Forum, the gate of Hercules, church and monastery of St Frances all offer you amazing photo opportunities. As well as these majestic, historic buildings, Pula has amazing unspoilt beaches, fabulous restaurants and bars, incredible watersports and boat trips on offer and thousands of ravers when the Dimensions and Outlook festivals take place in at the end of August and into September. At night you will see the dazzling Lighting Giants light installation which features eight towering cranes illuminated in magical colours. It lasts for an hour and a half each evening. You can also catch a ferry from just outside Pula to visit the wonderful Veli Brijun Island. It is about 10km away and is a tiny, car-free island. You can also take a ferry to Venice from Pula which takes 3 hours.
