Within the immediate area of this Llangynog cottage you can enjoy scenic walking and bike trails leading right from the doorstep, whilst the especially brave can experience the buzz of the nearby downhill Revolution Bike Park or relax at either two of the pubs in the main village which is a 15 minute stroll door to door. This delightful Llangynog farm-house is an ideal base from which to explore all of Mid and North Wales, including Lakes Bala and Vyrnwy, the towns of Oswestry, Welshpool, Shrewsbury, Llangollen and the historic city of Chester. Take a walk over the mountain to visit the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, the tallest in Wales.It's only a 3 mile walk as the crow flies, or 10 miles by road. Or, hop into the car and you can be on the beach at Barmouth or Harlech in an hour. Plus it's only a one and a quarter hour drive to Pen-y-Pass car park at the base of Snowdon. This charming community is about four miles from the majestic Pistyll Rhaeadr (a 240-foot-high waterfall), one of Wales' Seven Wonders, in the lovely Tanat Valley at the base of the Berwyn Mountains. The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain and, more recently, the David Tennant-starring movie Nativity 2 were both filmed in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. The community has three pubs, a café, a fish and chip restaurant, an Indian takeaway, two general stores, a newsagent, a post office, a butcher. Beautiful scenery surrounds it, offering walking paths for people of various fitness levels, such as the Berwyn Ridge Walk and a path to the top of the waterfall.
