This comfortable, two-storey apartment nestles above Ambleside, in the heart of the Lake District, with views over the village to Loughrigg Fell, in this truly beautiful corner of England. This lovely apartment is perfect for a family holiday or a group of friends wishing to enjoy this central location. With the added benefit of having endless restaurants and shops just a short distance away, there is plenty to enjoy. The apartment has a bright and modern kitchen with dining area and a sitting room to relax in after a busy day exploring the area. It also has two bedrooms and two bathrooms to complement this.

There are patio doors leading to a private balcony with furniture, perfect for enjoying the fabulous views of the surrounding area. In every direction, you are surrounded by spectacular scenery with endless paths and bridleways to explore. The walk up Loughrigg Fell itself from Ambleside will reveal breathtaking scenery looking up Lake Windermere, over Rydal Water, Grasmere and Loughrigg Tarn. Why not walk over the fell to Grasmere where you can enjoy a snack at one of the cafes and then head back passing Rydal Caves and back to Ambleside. For the more adventurous, higher climbs are available up Sweden Bridge and the Fairfield Horseshoe.

This location is perfect for a real Lake District holiday with breathtaking views to enjoy at any time of the year.

Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here with numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force.

    In fact when we arrived this year I jokingly said, as we entered, ‘We’re home’ as that’s how comfortable we feel. The accommodation has everything you could need for your holiday. For us it’s a central point for our hiking days. What’s also great is that it’s two minutes down a path and you’re into the middle of town yet you don’t get the noise of town when busy. I thoroughly recommend this property for any type of Lakes holiday.

    We really enjoy the property, its central location (yes, even the climb!) and facilities. Sitting in the balcony enjoying the evening sun is heavenly. The apartment is comfortable without being flash. There are two bathrooms, which is very convenient. There has never been any neighbour noise in our times there. We would love it to have a washing machine but it's not the end of the world. We'll probably see you again next year.

    Rothay 17 was fabulous. The location, views and amenities were all fantastic. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything you would want for a home away from home. The bed was ever so comfortable and if I knew where the pillows came from I’d definitely get some for myself they were extremely comfortable. All in all a five star stay in a five star accommodation. We will definitely be back and have already recommended Rothay 17 to family and friends.
