About this property

A traditional, stone-built, former fisherman's cottage, situated just three minutes' walk from the harbour and beaches of the picturesque coastal village of Portknockie on the Moray Coast.

This spacious cottage provides a perfect holiday home for a large family or group of friends who will enjoy spending time together, exploring this fascinating and historic part of Scotland.

Stylishly furnished throughout, this spacious and comfortable semi-detached cottage affords sea views across the roof-tops, from two of the four lovely bedrooms. The added convenience of a bathroom and shower room , as well as a large, south-facing patio garden, ensures this property is perfect for families.

Enjoy a relaxing stroll to Portknockie's unspoilt harbour and absorb the striking views over the glistening ocean from Bow Fiddle Rock, or head inland to explore the area's historic castles. Why not call in at one of the many whisky distilleries for a dram or two, or simply relax and unwind on the miles of golden beaches?

This Portknockie cottage is an ideal base for exploring this relatively undiscovered part of Scotland.

This cliff top village is in a stunning location and overlooks a natural harbour on the Moray Firth coast. From here rugged cliffs can be explored along with coves and beaches, and discover the local landmark of Bow Fiddle rock. The area is a magnet for birdwatchers, with colonies of seabirds making the cliffs their home and providing a magnificent spectacle for ornithology enthusiasts. Offshore, dolphins and seals are a regular sight in this area. Portknockie has a variety of shops, including a general food store, public house, butcher's shop and more besides. Beneath a dramatic setting of a railway viaduct is the town of Cullen, which is famous for it's fish soup, known as "Cullen Skink" a delicious smoked haddock and potato dish. The North east of Scotland is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered.

Warm .it is just tired .Needs some TLC ..beds rather uncomfortable.Need new mattress..When we got there had to give all kitchen counters a spray and clean crockery and cutlery and cupboards and the kettle has seen better days.all needed a good clean.just the little things.i see its up for sale .mayb the owner not wanting to spend money on it .it could be a cracking place with a little TLC.i don't wish to sound negative about the accommodation.could be a cracking place with some extra care and a little £££ spent on it.

The dishwasher and the toilet issues were reported straight away but the owner didnt try to resolve either issue .For 6 people only having 1 toilet was not good there was supposed to be a dvd player couldnt find overall not the best of experiences-disappointed i wish the owner could have shown some concern just because it is up for sale ne reason for lack of communication with us--so sad to say would not recommend and will not be going back i am sorry to say -To the owners i would say a bit more care and attention please!!

Well equipped kitchen, beds comfortable, good wifi signal although at times poor mobile signal. Village itself was delightful, one small, but well stocked, shop, excellent Chinese takeaway, and fish and chip takeaway, farm shop, supermarkets close by. Fantastic walks in the area, woodland and coastal, with safe swimming and paddle boarding in the harbour area. Would book again if back in this area.
