Between the Wye Valley and the Royal Forest of Dean, the charming community of Lydbrook is nestled in a unesco-designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town's tea rooms, fish and chip shop, village store, Post Office, and a variety of pubs and restaurants are nestled among the area's lovely cottages. Historic market town Ross-on-Wye is about 7 miles distant from Goodrich Castle, an example of a 12th century "Marcher Castle" in rural Herefordshire's Herefordshire countryside. The 17th-century Market Hall is surrounded by Tudor-style buildings, and the town's shops, taverns, and restaurants have something for everyone. Take a leisurely stroll along the river's banks, a river cruise, or a hot-air balloon ride to take in the surrounding scenery.
Symonds Yat, Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains, and the Forest of Dean are all great day outings from Herefordshire.
