The cottage is in a great location, central for so many activities, lovely walks on the doorstep and a few good pubs withing a mile or twoThe garden is a good space and hot tub well maintained, clean and good temperatureHaving the spa for the lodges next door was a bonus and Monika there was brilliant, great treatments and service from herThe only thing that let the place down was it really needs a bit of TLC and better cleaning. Just little things like paint peeling on the stairs, shower cleaned outside but dirty inside, dirty splash marks on radiator in conservatory, wonky fridge with slimy water under the salad tray, no tin opener, a roasting tin that is too large to fit in the oven! The place definitely had been cleaned, as it smelt so much of Dettol when we arrived it made me heave and we had to put the mop and bucket outside during our stay. Floors, worktop, crockery & cutlery were all clean and washing up liquid, sponge & 2 dishwasher tablets were providedBeautiful four-poster bed and really nice quality clean bed linen, but the most uncomfortable mattress! It really would not take much to bump this up a couple of stars. A few hundred pounds and a bit more thought could make a huge difference.
