There are also plenty of beauty spots nearby, including the Lydford Gorge, Burrator Reservoir and the historic Buckland Abbey. Horse Riding is also available at the highly regarded nearby Cholwell Riding Stables which is either a 9-minute drive away or a 30-minute direct off-road walk across the beautiful moor.
Beyond Dartmoor, day trips to beaches in Cornwall and Devon offer a great alternative for a day-out.
