Guests say

Margaret's Cottage is highly praised for its stunning views, peaceful location, and friendly owners. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy log burner, and the proximity to local pubs and walks. Some minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance are noted, but overall, guests report a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Most guests found the cottage spotless and well-presented. However, a few mentioned specific items not being as clean as expected and a strong odour of dogs in the lounge, slightly affecting the overall cleanliness perception.

The location is consistently described as stunning and peaceful, with beautiful views and easy access to local attractions and walks. The proximity to a local pub is also frequently mentioned as a positive aspect.

Guests report the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a warm log burner and comfortable beds. Some discomfort was noted due to hard single beds and a noisy water system, but these were minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.

The cottage is well-equipped, with a modern kitchen and bathroom. However, there are recurring mentions of a noisy shower and water system, and some guests noted a lack of spare toilet rolls and bin bags, indicating room for improvement in maintenance.

While guests mention the owners being friendly and helpful, there is no specific mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews provided. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category accurately.

the owners who live nearby were so lovely and it was good to be able to chat to them occasionally. We would have liked to have stayed for our 3 weeks but the cottage had a previous booking for our 2nd week in the Dales , so we unfortunately had to move out. We have been visiting the Dales for 46yrs! Thank you Carol and Patrick.

There are many great walks in the surrounding area. I would recommend the walk from Muker to Keld. Walking up one side of the river and returning on the other side taking in many waterfalls on the way. The Farmer's Arms in Muker does a great Sunday lunch. There is also a really good fish and chip van , Ramsay's, which comes to Low Row on a Friday evening. It was lovely to sit in the garden in the evening and just listen to the sheep. Very peaceful.

We enjoyed sitting out on the patio with its well tended gardens overlooking the Swale valley. We were lucky enough to hearv a cuckoo. The beds were really comfortable and the standard throughout the cottage was brilliant. The location is only a short walk to the Punch Bowl where we enjoyed great food and ales. The owner was very helpful and good at communicationg with us. We will definitely return.
