This characterful holiday cottage is surrounded by beautiful farmland and boasts stunning views across Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). The property sleeps six guests and is perfect for families and groups of friends looking to embrace nature on long walks, cycle rides and picnics in the surrounding landscape. For shopping and eating out, the market town of Brecon is just 2.5 miles away.
The charming barn conversion is part of a complex of holiday homes next to the owner’s farmhouse. The property is decorated in a country cottage style and still retains original features, such as exposed beams in the bedrooms. The accommodation is arranged on one level, with a small step leading down to the open-plan living area. This sociable space has an inviting lounge area with comfortable sofas arranged around a Smart TV and a large dining table set next to the patio doors, which can be opened in the summer months to let the outside in. A separate kitchen has everything you need to whip up hearty meals for the group, and there’s also a breakfast table for informal dining. The property has two inviting bedrooms, including a family room with a double bed and two singles. A refreshing bathroom completes the accommodation, and you’ll find shared laundry facilities in an adjacent building. Outside, you’ll have a private patio overlooking a bubbling stream, as well as access to a shared garden with a BBQ for outdoor dining. Guests are welcome to explore the surrounding farmland by prior arrangement with the owner.
Brecon is a picturesque market town with a great range of independent shops and eateries, along with museums and art galleries to explore. Take time to admire the town’s Georgian architecture and be sure to visit the beautiful cathedral. There are some gorgeous walks in and around the town, including along the traffic-free Taff Trail and the towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy a trip to Llangorse Lake (9 miles), where you can hire canoes and paddleboards to get out on the water. Alternatively, spend a relaxing afternoon aboard the steam trains of the Brecon Mountain Railway (22 miles).
