Guests say

Heath Barn is a charming and peaceful countryside retreat, highly praised for its tranquil setting, beautiful views, and relaxing hot tub. Guests appreciate the well-equipped and clean accommodation, with many noting the perfect atmosphere for a restful getaway. While access across the field can be challenging in wet weather and a few guests mentioned the need for a new mattress, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive. Thoughtful touches from the hosts, such as welcome gifts, are appreciated, though not guaranteed. The property is ideal for those seeking a quiet escape surrounded by nature.

Most guests found the barn spotlessly clean and tidy, with only rare minor issues such as outdoor furniture needing attention or the hot tub water clarity. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point.

The location is widely celebrated for its peace, seclusion, and stunning countryside views. Some guests noted the field access can be muddy, but the setting is consistently described as idyllic and perfect for a rural escape.

Guests generally found the barn comfortable and cosy, especially enjoying the hot tub and peaceful surroundings. However, several reviews mention the need for a new mattress, which affected sleep quality for some.

Facilities are praised, with a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and thoughtful amenities. A few guests noted missing kitchen items or maintenance issues, and field access can be tricky in poor weather, but overall satisfaction is high.

Many guests appreciated welcome gifts such as wine and biscuits, as well as helpful touches like a trolley for luggage. Please note, these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Heath Barn sits in a field, the location is lovely and peaceful and there are great views. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars on a clear evening was magical. The access to the cottage is 100 yards across a field, which we knew from the information, but it was quite muddy. A previous review explains the problems they had and perhaps a stoned path would aid access when the weather is wet, which will also prevent negative feedback and more bookings throughout winter. Heath Barn was clean inside although I wouldn’t consider the furniture to be luxury, as stated. The outside furniture could do with covering over winter or cleaning more often as it was quite weathered and not very clean. There were neither dishwasher tablets nor tea towel provided, and the plinth under the kitchen cupboards was not attached and was lying on the floor. I messaged the owner about the dish washer tablets and the plinth, they said ‘Ok leave it with me’ - and no remedial action was forthcoming. If items are not provided or furniture is broken then that information should be made clear in advance. All in all we enjoyed our stay, inconveniences aside.

Just back from a short break at Heath Barn. The barn was lovely, had everything we needed and lovely a warm throughout our stay. Yes there is a bit of a hike to the Barn from your vehicle, and can be muddy but we left shoes/trainers in car and walked across in our hiking boots (no problem) Little cart left at the gate was very useful to take luggage and any further shopping over from car. Looking over the hills and seeing sheep grazing from the hot tub, in the peace and quiet was perfect.. West Midlands Safari park is definitely worth a visit and we also had a lovely meal at the fox and hounds at Lulsley and Malvern also worth a visit .

We had a really disappointing time due to the lack of communication and poor access to the property. The description of the access and location is not at all accurate or reliable and the attitude of the owner was really upsetting. Anyone with any access or mobility issues should not book this cottage because the short walk is anything but with mud and animal excrement so deep that people had abandoned footwear the ‘alternative’access is up a pretty steep bank and you have to trudge all of your stuff across and we lost and had to chase lots of things. There is also not enough screening or privacy around the hottub so it felt quite uncomfortable as you can see the owner as you are trying to relax. The cottage it’s self is adequate and I am sure in a very dry spell in the summer the walk across the field wouldn’t be so bad but it was impassable and the attitude of the owner was really unpleasant. I would not recommend or return to this property unless the access was improved which is such a shame because it spoiled a special occasion.
