Guests say

Kings Head Cottage in Pickering is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its central location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the property's proximity to local amenities. The presence of church bells adds a quaint charm, though some find them disruptive to sleep. Parking is convenient, but occasionally challenged by neighbours. The cottage's thoughtful touches, including Christmas decorations, are noted and appreciated.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with several guests highlighting its high standard of cleanliness. However, a few minor issues such as mouldy grouting and a dirty washing machine seal slightly detract from the overall impression.

The location is highly praised for being central and convenient, with easy access to local shops, restaurants, and attractions. The proximity to the church is both a positive and a negative, as the bells contribute to the atmosphere but can disturb sleep for some.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the cosy lounge and comfortable beds. The presence of two toilets and showers adds to the comfort level. However, the church bells are noted to affect the comfort of light sleepers.

The cottage is well-equipped with necessary appliances and facilities, contributing to a home-from-home experience. Some maintenance issues such as leaky taps and a deteriorating sink worktop are mentioned, indicating room for improvement.

While guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like Christmas decorations and provisions, there is no mention of gifts, so it is not possible to score this category. It should be noted that such thoughtful gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

lovely gottage had everything that you would need for your stay, so close to shopspubs etc, warm and cosy, decor and furnishings very tastefully doneonly comment was the parking space areas not really suitable for a big car such as a 4x4 which we have, space at the garage was quite tight and awkward to get into resulting in my husband damaging the car quite a lot and will cost an arm and leg to get sorted which put a damper on our holiday here plus the fact when we first arrived there was a car already parked in the driveway, apparently it belongsto a neighbour who the owners let them park there, this should'nt be when peopleare renting out their cottage

Excellent location, great value for money. Spotlessly clean, had all the things you need and more. Only downside was the church bells, especially on a Sunday morning, but if you’re not a late sleeper you’d be fine

It’s a lovely cottage, very central in Pickering. The bells from the church are quite annoying though, ringing every 15 minutes and even through the night. They are loud and they practice on a Wednesday evening for over 2 hours until 9pm. If you can put up with the noise, it’s a fabulous place.
