Riverside Cottage is a charming property with a picturesque river at the garden's end, offering a tranquil setting. Guests appreciate the clean environment, ample parking, and the well-equipped space. While some find the cottage cosy and perfect for a quiet stay, others suggest that certain amenities could be enhanced for an even more comfortable experience.
The property is generally described as clean, with one review specifically noting the house was clean. However, there was a mention of pots, pans, and oven trays needing a thorough wash before use, indicating room for improvement.
The location is praised for its quietness and lovely setting by a river, although it is noted that local amenities are not within walking distance and driving is necessary. The proximity to good walking routes and a pub is appreciated.
Comfort levels are mixed, with some guests finding the cottage cosy and others noting issues with bed firmness and shower pressure. The variety of opinions suggests that while the cottage is comfortable for many, there is potential for improvement.
Facilities are adequate but several reviews mention the need for maintenance and updates, including the conservatory windows, radiators, and showers. The presence of good equipment is noted, but the issues with shower pressure and WiFi connectivity affect the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Gorgeous little cottage right next to the river, however, the concrete drive needs a lot of TLC as very pot holely. To get to local amenities you definitely need to drive, not much within walking distance. The cottage has everything you’d need but a lot of things very very dated and in need of some maintenance, windows in conservatory, radiator in main bathroom and shower tripping constantly when using it. The pots, pans and oven trays could definitely do with replacing and the ones there needed to be washed throughly before use.

Lovely quiet cottage in a lovely location, with good equipment.Nothing locally except a good pub just down the road, booking advisable. The cottage is a few miles from coniston and if you're a walker then local walks will provide good views.Theres a river at the bottom of the garden which is lovely too All in all we had a lovely timeThe only draw back for us was the parking,an adjacent cottage has three spaces and if they don't park well it is very tight to get in and out of the garage provided for this accommodation if you have a large vehicle

The cottage was in a lovely location however several things let it down, which didnt spoil the trip but we would have liked to know about when booking, hence sharing here. Both showers had very low presure and one had no temperature control, the tv and WiFi kept cutting out, there were no coffee making facilities. The previous guests had reported online and in the visitor book that the fire extinguisher had no presure but this had not been fixed.
