Groom's Bothy in Hexham offers a cosy and well-equipped stay, with convenient access to local attractions and transport. Guests appreciate the quietness despite its central location, and the inclusion of festive decorations adds a charming touch. Some minor maintenance issues and comfort concerns with the sofa and mattress are noted.
The cottage is described as clean, with no negative comments on cleanliness, suggesting a high standard.
The location is praised for its convenience to Kielder, Hadrian's Wall, and local amenities, with excellent transport links.
The comfort of the cottage receives mixed reviews, with some guests finding the sofa and mattress hard and uncomfortable, but the presence of a log fire adds to the overall comfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, including a dishwasher and a lovely shower room. However, some maintenance issues like a hard-to-unlock back door and a fire alarm needing attention slightly lower the score.
The thoughtful touch of Christmas decorations is mentioned, enhancing the guest experience. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, this should not be expected by future guests.

This little cottage has everything you neeed for a comfortable stay. It is well equipped and cosy even includes a dishwasher and log fire.Well situated in the main street of Bellingham with supermarket and shops oppsite - the local bus service to Hexham and Kielder stop lliterally at the door. In spite of this the cottage is lovely and quiet. This was my first visit but I will definitely be back!

Lovely clean cottage, unfortunately the only let down was the sofa and the mattress on the bed. Very Hard and uncomfortable. The back door wasn't easy to unlock. No information on recycling?Fire Alarm hanging off the ceiling.A curtain covering the door way to the kitchen would be a great addition as it was a little drafty.
