Having its own games/utility room with a pool table and table tennis within a purpose made outbuilding, which is just opposite the property, there is something to entertain the whole family. It is located in the quiet village of Roydon, just 1 mile from the market town of Diss, which is plentiful with shops, cafés and restaurants. The area is great for exploring the delights of Norfolk and Suffolk with its Heritage Coast, including Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold are all within easy driving distance. Hire a boat on the famous Norfolk Broads or, for thrill seekers, head to the areas only theme park, Pleasurewood Hills, or enjoy Great Yarmouth’s golden mile and funfair. The property lies midway between the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, famous for its cathedral, Georgian theatre, abbey and gardens, museums and markets, and the historic city of Norwich which also has a cathedral and market plus a wide range of shops, restaurants and galleries to delight you. Nearby you will find nature reserves, Bressingham Gardens and Steam Park, Banham Zoo, National Trusts Ickworth House and Thetford Forest, where you will find extensive walks and cycle trails. If you want a day out at the seaside, both the Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines are within an hour’s drive. We stayed 4 nights from Christmas eve at Woodcrest Barn cottage. Really liked the welcome hamper. Claire helped us to get to the property and explained everything during checking in. Even though the weather was cold underfloor heating at the property kept us really warm. Rooms are very spacious and very cosy. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of toiletries. Hot tub was a bonus and we really enjoyed it. Plenty to explore around and we definitely recommend this cottage. Claire and Russell being great hosts. We are planning to visit again in summer.

Woodcrest Barn was ideal for the 4 of us over Christmas. It was very comfortable and well equipped. The extra touches of welcome hamper and bottle of bubbly were very thoughtful and much appreciated. The hot tub and games room were excellent. Friendly hosts. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to returning.
