The bungalow is ideal for families and dog owners seeking a relaxing seaside break, with easy access to local pubs and attractions. Overall, it offers excellent value and a memorable stay in a fantastic setting.

Reviews are mixed, with several guests praising the property as clean and tidy, while others note issues such as cobwebs, musty smells, and areas needing a deeper clean, particularly in bathrooms and kitchens. Most found the towels and linen fresh, but a few mentioned stained bedding and the need for more thorough cleaning.

The location is consistently highlighted as a major strength, with guests loving the quiet residential setting, proximity to the beach, coastal walks, and easy access to local pubs and nearby towns. The area is described as beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for dog owners.

We thought this bungalow was just what we expected - lots of lovely towels and linen ready, comfy, close to beach, shower was fabulous! Minor faults that brought score down - cleaning wasn't great - looks like they just clean in the middle of floors, curtains in lounge could do with a wash, and garden at rear wasn't totally secure for our medium/large dogs ( under part-flowering tree near shed, they were able to sneak through - maybe needs fencing in to make inaccessible?). Other than that, the musty/ damp smell we put down to not being aired long enough and/or heating not in use when house empty. But it didn't smell of dog ( - some of the places allowing dogs do). Thank you we are coming back next year!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt I should in this case. This was a late three‑night booking at a reduced rate for a birthday weekend, and, having seen the photos and read other reviews, we had deliberately lowered our expectations. Even so, the only real positive was the excellent location, just a short walk from the lovely sands of Botany Bay.Inside, the property had a strong, musty smell that air fresheners could not hide, particularly noticeable in the bedroom. The overall impression was of neglect rather than “retro” charm: visible black mould, cobwebs, poor cleanliness, tired furnishings, and basic issues such as no hot water at the bathroom sink and dripping taps. A chair acting as a bedside table and the lack of a headboard on the double bed added to the sense that the bungalow is not being properly maintained. The kitchen is adequate only for very simple self‑catering. Limited sockets mean you cannot sensibly use the microwave, toaster and kettle together, and with no dishwasher and only one tea towel, cooking and washing up feels more like a hassle than a holiday convenience. The Wi‑Fi worked only in the room where the router is located, and although poor mobile reception is not the owner’s fault, it makes reliable internet more important. Even small details, like having working batteries and spare sets for the TV and Sky remotes, were not addressed.I understand the argument that “you get what you pay for”, and I’m realistic about prices and time of year, but this fell below what I would consider a basic acceptable standard. We seriously considered leaving early or booking elsewhere locally, which says a lot. The bungalow has real potential because of its setting, but in my opinion, it needs a thorough refurbishment and much better attention to maintenance and cleanliness before it can be recommended.
