The property features a spectacular paved terrace with cacti and eye-catching lighting, a space which looks particularly beautiful at night. You have an outdoor shower, seating and dining areas, and an outdoor kitchen with barbecue. A few steps down, a little closer to the sea, a lawn area with day beds and sun loungers is just the perfect place to spend your day, or evening – the gorgeous sunsets will add their own magic.

The two elegant bedrooms each feature a large double bed with a high-quality Coco-Mat mattress for a blissful night’s sleep. Each has its own stunning en suite bathroom with towels and toiletries, a wall-mounted flat screen TV and a sea view. The famed clifftop Acropolis brings many visitors to Lindos, with the extensive coastal views more than enough reward for the steep climb. The steady stream of visitors ensures plenty of bars and restaurants are nearby too, some just 100m from the villa.

Many other attractions on Rhodes are within a short drive of Lindos too – the Valley of the Butterflies, the seven springs of Epta Piges, Tsambika Beach and Anthony Quinn Bay are among the highly scenic locations worth seeking out.

Rhodes is an island with more than its fair share of natural beauty and landmark sights. Lindos is a unesco site, so from Lindos you can choose one of three beaches; calm Pallas Beach, the secluded St. Paul’s Bay, Lindos’s main beach, Megali Paralia. It’s worth remembering that Lindos will be a day trip for most visitors to Rhodes, meaning in the day it can get quite busy. With Villa Corteau being at the end of a track you’ll be in your own oasis. Of an evening there are less tourists, and with the main transport being a donkey there are no traffic jams here!

The town of Rhodes is as good a place to visit and lies on the northern tip of the island. A walk along the medieval walls of the Old Town & castle will offer you some beautiful views. Part of a World Heritage Site, this is also the location of a fine museum which offers the chance to familiarise yourself with Rhodian history, extending as far back as the 3rd century BC.

Another museum worth checking out is the Museum of Modern Greek Art, with an eclectic collection only rivalled by Athens. The New Town area is visually appealing itself, with an Art Deco influence present in much of its architecture. Mandráki harbour is the home of Evangelismós Cathedral, where you can find some impressive frescoes.

Along the coast,to the north, you also have resorts such as Ammoudes, Kolympia and, perhaps best-known, Faliraki. While its reputation may precede it, this is not the hedonism capital it once was. A children’s water-park and the beautiful Anthony Quinn Bay may tempt you there during the day, and an aquarium and scuba-diving school also embrace the aquatic theme.

At the very southern tip of the island, Prasonisi’s location – dividing the Aegean and the Mediterranean – is considered prime wind-surfing territory. But if that sounds a little too exhilarating, Rhodes’ more sedate attractions like the Valley of the Butterflies, numerous wineries and the seven springs of the wonderfully scenic Epta Piges nature reserve, will provide just as pleasant a day out.
