"Upon arriving at S21417 we were so delighted to see that the cottage was set in a large paddock and the front elevation overlooks fantastic uninterrupted views of the snow top mountains and open landscape. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Good sized rooms which are nice and cosy. Perfect for a family of 4 + 1 dog. Towels and bed linen provided were lovely and clean. Fluffy towels! And the bed linen smelt fresh. I have to say the beds were very comfortable. The open fire was brilliant, the fire was set up for the first night so just needed lighting BUT no matches provided to light it. Luckily the Tesco delivery man was a smoker so we ambushed him. We had a Tesco delivery so we didn’t need to go out shopping for food but the local village does have a Spar. Beautiful walks locally. We liked Hafren Forset the most. Gorgeous waterfalls, streams which form from the River Severn. The few down sides-•No matches provided to light the fire. (Not on arrival)•1 pot on the left hand side of the fire (cast iron). We lifted the lid to see if matches were in side it but no, the putrid smell that hit us in the face from inside the pot was awful. It smelt of stale urine. We had to put the pot outside! •No baking trays provided. However there is 1 roasting tray but with a family of 4 this wasn’t enough. •1 plastic spatula provided, when making pancakes this item was inadequate as it started to melt. A metal spatula would be an added benefit!•Cobwebs - I know it’s a 17th Century cottage but the cobwebs that are in corners above beds and in the the bathroom would be easy to reach with a feather duster. •Bathroom (Downstairs)The paint work needs attention. It’s cracked and peeling in places. Possibly due to lack of ventilation when the shower is used. Maybe benefit from a fan or trickel vent. •Light Bulb- The wall light fitting in the kitchen to the left of the fridge freezer has 1 bulb out. It would have been an added benefit if blankets for the lounge were provided for evenings to make it even more cosy."

"It’s was too far inland 42miles to Aberystwyth coast and town,Newtown not many shops good for food shopping at Morrison’s, never got a welcome when we arrived and leaving in fact we never saw them at all, the place needs tweaking up has lights flashing when switch on and some not even working, don’t do ur washing has only got 3 hour wash shrunk our cloths, side door don’t lock at all have no key and sticking, the hot tub was lovely at the end of the day to chill, the views were breathtaking and sunsets, weather was beautiful all week,we took our dogs but was no fencing to keep her in and to keep an eye on her all the time has sheep get out there fields and ducks on lane,so couldn’t relax while in hot tub or shut her in, wouldn’t return sorry owners rude, if that’s how she runs her Business, well say no more."

"We Had a Fantastic time at S21430, it is in a lovely location just outside Newtown, Newtown has everything you need, Shops, Supermarkets, Pubs, Takeaways Etc, there is lots to do in and around the area Castles and Red Kite centres, Museums etc. Going back to the cottage the Hot Tub and Cinema Room are fantastic, the Kitchen and lounge are very spacious and everything else just perfect. The owners looked after us brilliantly, they organised my daughters Horse riding out, and also looked after our 3 dogs one day while we had a long day out and also showed us how to work the cinema entertainment system, they also let us use a field to walk our dogs, the garden is also great for the dogs all enclosed. An excellent place to stay we will be back. Thank you for everything at S21430."

"S21430 was perfect for all of the 8 guests that stayed this weekend - the cottage was homely and welcoming with a lovely surprise of chocolates and a bottle of fizz awaiting us what a lovely gesture. The accommodation was spacious yet private for all guests and the open plan aspect wonderful so we were all together. The cinema room is so comfortable and relaxing and a fabulous extra. The hot tub was a delight to chill out in. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful I would have no hesitation to revisit S21430. It was spotless and had everything you could possibly need while away from home. Had a fabulous break there and need to go back again and repeat the whole experience. A lovely holiday home and a credit to the owners."

"We loved the cottage but were disappointed not to have been greated by the owners. They did leave us a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates which was a nice touch. The shower upstairs didn’t drain whilst we were showering so that could do with sorting. The garden was beautiful but we felt the cottage would benefit from plastic plates and glasses etc to use outside. The hot tub was very relaxing and everyone loved it. The information book needs updating as a taxi firm I called hadn’t been in business for 5 years. The cottage itself is done to a fabulously standard and really is beautiful. Overall we absolutely loved our stay there were just a few little things that would have made it perfect."
